A century-old red-brick cotton warehouse on Canal Street, right in the heart of the gay village, is now a design-forward boutique hotel with loft-style rooms that each feel genuinely individual, down to the art on the walls. Most come with kitchenettes or full kitchens, which pushes the whole stay closer to "living here temporarily" than "sleeping somewhere nice." The Michelin Guide has it among its selected hotels.
