    Oscar Wilde spent his last night on earth here, which tells you something about the clientele's taste for drama. L'Hôtel is a boutique hotel on the Left Bank that invented the form before anyone had a name for it, with 20 rooms designed by Jacques Garcia, each one so different from the last that guests request specific ones by personality. The hammam pool underground is a genuine luxury, and Wilde's Lounge handles cocktails and jazz with appropriate decadence.
