The architect Oscar Tusquets bolted a striking modern wing onto a 1920s palace on the Montjuïc hillside, and somehow it works beautifully. This 75-room luxury hotel sits inside a city park with views down to the port, which sounds too good to be true but isn't. Rooms run to heated floors and a palette of grays and creams, the outdoor pool dissolves into the landscaping, and the whole place feels one remove above the city without being actually inaccessible.
