Yotam Ottolenghi's Soho restaurant trades in the kind of cooking his cookbooks made famous: vivid, generously spiced dishes that pull from the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and across Asia. You can order your own main or go the sharing route, which most tables do. Downstairs seats look straight into the kitchen, which keeps the room lively. It draws cookbook devotees and Soho lunchers in roughly equal measure.
