    A 12-meter sculpture rising through the atrium gives you a sense of what this boutique hotel is going for. Squeezed between a Gothic church and a Baroque convent in old Palma, the mansion's bones are 18th-century, but the interiors run to calm neutrals and Mallorcan contemporary art. The underground spa, regional sharing-plate restaurant, and rooftop plunge pool with a bar overlooking the city all make a strong case for staying in rather than sightseeing.
