Japanese
Plum blossoms are woven into the identity here, from the neighborhood's name to the motifs on the stewed-dish bowls. This is a small Japanese restaurant near Kitano Tenmangu, built around unagi: grilled eel over rice at lunch, kabayaki at dinner, made with the same dipping sauce the chef's family used at their Fukui shop. The frozen plum dessert comes from a former classmate's orchard, and the sake travels in from Wakasa. It's a very personal radius.
