    A Haussmannian landmark halfway between the Arc de Triomphe and the Trocadéro, the Peninsula Paris is a grand luxury hotel where 20 expert stonemasons restored the original neoclassical stonework before a single guest checked in. Rooms run to lacquered grays and marble bathrooms with Japanese toilets; a 65-foot indoor pool has a floor-to-ceiling waterfall. A 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom II is available for getting around, which feels about right. The hotel holds a Forbes Four Star and 2 Michelin Keys.
