Velvet is a hotel cocktail bar in the Corinthia, dressed in so much red velvet it could pass for the inside of a very expensive jewelry box. Salvatore Calabrese, a famous bartender, is behind it, and his Negroni svegliato pairs Campari with coffee. Live jazz plays most nights, the lights stay low, and the menu includes a cocktail that costs £450, so budget accordingly. It's open until 1am Tuesday to Saturday.
