Philippe Starck and the architects Tryptique wrapped this Montparnasse hotel in a skin of living vegetation, and the building reads like a green interruption on the Boulevard Pasteur. Inside, the rooms are lush and strangely calming, the lobby bar runs on an inverted layout with a live music program, and the rooftop bar looks out over the Eiffel Tower. It's a hotel that wants badly to feel organic, and mostly gets away with it.
