The best resorts in Turkey, according to the experts: The 50 and the Michelin Guide have both weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Macakizi comes out on top, and the good stuff runs deepest in Bodrum.
More Less
D Maris Bay and Maxx Royal Bodrum hold the next two places. The Michelin Guide shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with The 50 next.

The bar runs a DJ most nights, because Turks take nightlife seriously and nobody told the Aegean to slow down. Maçakizi is a boutique-style luxury hotel on Turkbuku bay, eighty-odd rooms done in breezy minimalism that feels more like a well-connected friend's summer house than a resort. Istanbul's beautiful people fill the beach club decks. Named 96th on the World's 50 Best Hotels list, it's seasonal, open roughly late April through October.

Five white-sand beaches, a Riviera-style beach club, and more than a dozen restaurants on a protected nature reserve where the Aegean and Mediterranean meet: D Maris Bay is an all-in resort on Turkey's Datça Peninsula, one of those remote stretches that feels like it skipped the tourist brochures. Rooms have cool modern interiors and Turkish artwork, which is fortunate, because the sun will eventually win and you'll need somewhere to retreat. Michelin has awarded it one Key.

Biblos sits on a wilder stretch of the Çeşme Peninsula, five minutes outside Alaçati proper, facing a protected nature reserve rather than the town beach, which is actually the better trade. It's a boutique resort with traditional stone buildings that are thoroughly modern inside, rooms running to neutral tones and industrial metallics, and a spa that could occupy an entire afternoon if you let it. Three restaurants cover everything from poolside snacks to French brasserie dinners on a terrace.

A Tie
Two places have the exact same Score, so they share #4. We don't pick a winner we can't back up.
- #4 Biblos Beach Resort Alaçati (this place) 66.805
- #4 Hiddenbay Teos 66.805
-
A boutique resort on the Aegean coast where ancient Ionian ruins, including a Temple of Dionysus and a theater, spread across the peninsula just beyond the terrace. The 22 rooms run large and open toward the sea through floor-to-ceiling glass, with private balconies and a pier for direct water access. A restaurant, spa, tennis, padel, and watersports round things out, and the wine list goes further than the standard Turkish bottles.

A beachfront resort on the Turkish Riviera with enough pools, restaurants, and bars to make the ruins at Perge feel like a detour you'll get to tomorrow. The dining spans traditional Turkish to outdoor BBQ, with cocktail bars, two pool bars, a beach club, and a nightclub handling the evenings. Add a spa, tennis courts, and an aquapark, and leaving the property starts to feel like a logistical problem nobody asked for.
