    A boutique hotel steps off the Champs-Élysées, on the very block where Balzac spent his final years, which the designers treat as an opportunity for sober, understated Parisian luxury rather than literary-themed décor. Rooms lean toward quiet and comfortable over grand, the Spa Ikoi takes things in a Japanese direction, and Pierre Gagnaire, three Michelin stars and all, shares the address with a private entrance for guests.
