A small bar spills onto Calle de Colima at street level, and you're meant to linger there with a drink before heading upstairs to the dining room, which is cozy, neutral-toned, and quietly confident. The husband-and-wife team behind Meroma keeps the menu seasonal and the sourcing deliberate, turning out the kind of elegant, composed plates that make Roma Norte feel like it's doing something right. An old-school institution this is not, but it eats like one.
