Two 18th-century palaces in Córdoba's old Jewish quarter, folded around a series of Moorish courtyard spaces, make an unlikely luxury hotel that happens to work beautifully. Rooms lean contemporary, but some keep their original stone walls, and a few catch a glimpse of the mosque-cathedral's tower over the old quarter wall. Breakfast and after-dinner drinks both spill into the courtyards, which do the heavy lifting that a rooftop bar would need to.
