A white marble counter runs the length of the open kitchen near Place des Victoires, and the room is spare enough that nothing distracts from what's on the plate. This is a Michelin-starred modern restaurant where Egyptian spicing quietly threads through the menu, turning up in lentils, in the saucing, in the seasoning of roasted meat. The team is young and visibly pleased to be there, which helps.
