A yoshoku restaurant that's been around forever, Ponta Honke is the kind of old-school Tokyo institution that makes you feel slightly embarrassed about your usual lunch. The signature pork cutlet is deep-fried in lard trimmed from the same pork, every cabbage shred cut by hand. Four generations of family have kept it exactly this way, and the room has the unhurried, undesigned warmth to prove it.
