Inside, this izakaya in Shinjuku runs on the idea that careful, deeply flavored food should feel like dropping in rather than going out. Simple dishes arrive one after another, each one made with an attention to detail that the unassuming room does nothing to advertise. The Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand, which the place seems pleasantly unbothered by.
