A glass-fronted wine cellar anchors the dining room at Zalacaín, a classic-international restaurant that has been part of Madrid's furniture long enough to have hosted what sounds like half the 20th century's who's who. The room still carries its old elegance without feeling pickled in it, and the menu keeps the legendary dishes alongside newer additions, which is a polite way of saying you can order the mushroom and foie gras lasagne and nobody will judge you.
