  1. Alma Prague landed at number 25 on Europe's 50 Best Bars list, which feels about right for a place that refuses to be just one thing. It's a contemporary restaurant and bar in Nové Město with an open kitchen, a courtyard terrace, and a cocktail list serious enough to carry the evening long after dinner. A Michelin Bib Gourmand keeps the food honest, and the sourdough alone, sourced from a local Libeň bakery, sets the tone.

  2. Rank 1. Forbína Bar

    Cocktail Bar

A velvet curtain separates this cocktail bar from the historic Café Slavia next door, which says a lot about Forbína's sense of theatre. Sitting across from the National Theatre, it draws on ballet, opera, and drama as actual cocktail briefs, not mood boards. The hand-melted glass lighting and wood-inlaid stage-like room do most of the heavy lifting before the drinks arrive. It landed on Europe's 50 Best Bars list, so the conceit is clearly working.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
