The Best Seafood Near Terme, by the Record

  1. The olive oil on the table comes from their own grove in the Val Nervia, which tells you something about how seriously this Michelin-starred restaurant in central San Remo takes its Ligurian roots. Paolo cooks a seafood-forward menu that stays close to the coast and the countryside both, while Barbara steers the room and knows the regional wine list cold. Old-school in feel, quietly meticulous in practice.

  2. Rank 2. Sarri

    Seafood

A Michelin-starred seafood restaurant in a pastel-painted fishing hamlet right on the Ligurian waterfront, with tables outside whenever the climate obliges, which is often. The room itself is a converted shed fitted out with sharp contemporary taste, so neither option feels like a consolation prize. The cooking leans into the local catch and organic garden produce, keeping everything tied to the season and the sea just visible from your chair.

  3. A private gate and a winding cliff path separate this fine dining room from the Côte d'Azur circus outside, which is rather the point. The terrace hangs over the Mediterranean between Nice and Monaco, palms swaying in that insufferably beautiful way. The chef's cooking follows the same logic as the setting: local seafood and garden herbs, nothing showy, everything precise. One Michelin star.

  4. Rank 4. Marixx

    Seasonal Seafood

Sitting inside the Cala del Forte marina with the ruins of the Forte dell'Annunziata visible from the sea-facing tables, this is a seafood restaurant where raw fish gets top billing and an oyster bar handles the side business. The glass-fronted veranda overlooking the promenade is where you want to be, though the contemporary dining room inside is no hardship. The chef knows Ligurian waters well, and the menu follows the season wherever it leads.

  5. Rank 5. Osteria Didù

    Ligurian Seafood

  6. Blue and white tiles line a small bistro steps from the opera house, where fish and seafood arrive as tapas-style plates, the menu mixing Mediterranean and South American ideas: ceviche, tataki, cod fritters. The name means "fish" in Portuguese, which settles the question of what you're getting. No reservations, service runs noon to midnight, and the terrace fills fast enough to suggest you shouldn't arrive expecting a leisurely hunt for a table.

  7. Rank 10. Il Posticino

    Seasonal Seafood

  8. Rank 12. Locanda Nelli

    Mediterranean Seafood

  9. Rank 13. Maison de Bacon

    Mediterranean Seafood

  10. Rank 14. Ai Torchi

    Ligurian Seafood

The dining room is a 17th-century olive oil press, stone mill and wooden press still in place under vaulted ceilings in a medieval village that looks like it was designed by a tourism board. The restaurant leans into its setting with Ligurian seafood given an imaginative push, the catch of the day landing in an Italian-style ceviche, local ingredients doing most of the talking. The simpler bistro around the corner, I Torchietti, is run by the same team if you want a lighter commitment.

  11. A seafood restaurant on the old port in Golfe-Juan where the chef weaves Asian technique through Mediterranean catch, and the result is less bouillabaisse-and-rosé and more fermented-fish soy with dentex tartare. The tasting menu moves through courses like a slow dive, produce pulled from nearby water and cooked with real ambition. The signature bouillabaisse, for two, is the kind of thing the table next to you definitely ordered.

  12. Rank 17. A Spurcacciun-a

    Modern Seafood

The garden terrace faces the beach close enough to hear the sea, and that alone explains why tables fill up in summer. This is a modern seafood restaurant inside Hotel Mare, where the kitchen leans heavily on whatever swam recently, prepared with enough contemporary technique to keep things interesting without losing the plot. The wine list runs deeper than you'd expect at a coastal spot. A Michelin Selected Restaurant.
