A bike with lavender spilling from the basket marks the entrance to this snug, old-school French cottage a block off Carmel's main street. The family modeled the interior on a Belgian farmhouse and dug an actual wine cellar beneath it, which sets the mood before the food even arrives. Rustic French cooking runs from hearty cannelloni to a grilled peach with pickled onion and toasted almonds. The private dining room comes with Van Gogh's table, which is either very romantic or a lot of pressure.
