A former coffeehouse in Vienna's second district, now running under a sign that says just "K," Das Kraus fits six tables and one tightly focused tasting menu. The chef came up through a Japanese kitchen, and the seasonal Austrian cooking carries the occasional quiet Asian note without making a fuss about it. Temporary art hangs on the walls because the owner runs a gallery, which explains a lot about the room's tone.
