Lázaro Rosa-Violán borrowed from Scandinavian maritime culture to dress a former bank in Palma's old city, and somehow it works completely. This sixteen-room boutique hotel sits on the Plaça de Cort with the quiet confidence of a place that has always been here, even though it hasn't. Stone walls, a collector's eye for furnishings, and a tiled restaurant spilling onto a terrace serving market-fresh Balearic food round out what is, by any measure, a very good problem to have.
