The 97 Best Places to Drink and Stay in Las Vegas

The best places to drink and stay in Las Vegas, according to the experts: VinePair, Time Out, and Eater have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Herbs & Rye comes out on top.

More Less

The Venetian and ARIA Sky Suites hold the next two places. Eater shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with The Infatuation next.

Departments

A department belongs to one section, so choosing one narrows the list to it.

  1. Rank 1. Herbs & Rye

    Steakhouse

Herbs & Rye is an off-Strip cocktail bar dressed as a steakhouse, all brick walls and red velvet wallpaper, with bartenders in black tie who seem unaware the buffet era ended. The menu is sorted by period, so a pisco sour comes from the Golden Age and a martinez from the Gothic one. It keeps pouring until 3am, which helps, since dinner reservations book up weeks out.

  2. St. Mark's Square, the famous clock tower, canals with singing gondoliers: it's all here, in the desert, at full scale. The Venetian is a vast all-suite resort on the Strip where the bathrooms alone run nearly a third of the room's footprint, complete with Roman tubs and marble everything. Thomas Keller, Wolfgang Puck, and Emeril Lagasse are all on the dining roster. Whether it reads as tribute or absurdist fever dream probably depends on your relationship with Venice.

  3. A hotel-within-a-hotel perched at the top of ARIA's glass tower, Sky Suites keeps its own entrance, its own concierge, and its own logic. Every suite starts above 1,050 square feet, with a separate bedroom, full living room, steam shower, and Jacuzzi, so the floor plan alone makes most Las Vegas rooms feel like closets. Forbes Five Star. The Strip is down there somewhere, if you ever feel like leaving.

    The awards

  4. The name comes from an era when locals climbed to the roof to watch atomic test blasts light up the Nevada sky. This old-school bar on Fremont Street has been around forever, and the Rat Pack drank here after their shows, which sets the tone pretty neatly. The red-tinted interior leans into Atomic Age kitsch, sour beers are a specialty, and the patio out back is where late nights tend to end up.

  5. The butterfly motif is everywhere at this Forbes Four Star resort on the Strip, said to bring good luck, though the casino probably has its own opinions on that. Suites run to floor-to-ceiling Strip views, limestone and marble baths, and TVs that swivel to follow you around the room. The spa fills 37 treatment rooms, and XS, the nightclub on the property, has a wading pool and a chandelier over the dance floor, because of course it does.

  6. Marble bathrooms with their own TVs, because apparently missing a hand of blackjack while you soak is not an option here. This all-suite hotel inside Encore at Wynn Las Vegas holds a Forbes Five Star and comes with a private entrance, a dedicated lobby bar, and concierge service that keeps the larger resort at arm's length. Suites have massage tables built in, and the public spaces balance the elegance with red chandeliers and lime-green accents that feel genuinely Las Vegas.

    The awards

  7. The hotel occupies the upper floors of Mandalay Bay without sharing its casino floor, which is the whole point. Rooms run to desert-toned calm and Strip views; the private pool stays mercifully quiet by Vegas standards. Veranda handles California-brasserie duties, PRESS pours the cocktails, and the spa holds a Forbes Five Star. A Michelin Key and Forbes Four Star for the hotel itself.

  8. A former auto garage with a butcher-paper cocktail menu still hanging above the makeshift kitchen, Liquid Diet is a creative cocktail bar where the bartenders juice and blend everyday ingredients into drinks that read like a dare. Bell pepper martinis, key lime sippers, banana bread cocktails with cookie shards frozen into chiseled ice cubes. Esquire named it one of the best bars in America, and curious tourists and pub crawlers seem to be putting that to the test nightly.

  9. Fifty-one lofts on the top two floors of MGM Grand, each with floor-to-ceiling glass and an infinity tub pointed at the Strip. This Forbes Five Star boutique hotel within a hotel gives every guest a dedicated 24-hour butler, a private entrance, and a tidy distance from the casino floor below. Designer Tony Chi kept the rooms calm and contemporary, which is a deliberate counterpoint to everything happening outside the window.

    The awards

  10. The Palazzo tower is all suites, starting at 720 square feet, decorated in contemporary Italian style rather than the gondola-and-canal pageantry next door at The Venetian. Seven pools, Egyptian linens, remote-controlled shades against that relentless desert sun. Thomas Keller and Wolfgang Puck both have restaurants here, which gives the whole thing a certain critical mass. A Forbes Four Star resort that earns its quieter register amid the Strip's general enthusiasm for spectacle.

  11. The rooms average 640 square feet, nearly double the Strip standard, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a pillow-top bed they've named the Wynn Dream Bed (sure, why not). This twin-tower resort holds a Forbes Four Star and leans hard into the idea that nature and excess belong together, so waterfalls and original fine art share space with Celine and Bottega boutiques. The spa, a show called Awakening, and the Lake of Dreams keep you busy without ever leaving the property.

  12. A private entrance off the south gate means Tower Suites guests never touch the casino floor on the way to check-in, which tells you everything about the tier. This Forbes Five Star hotel-within-a-hotel at Wynn Las Vegas keeps its own pool, its own restaurant, and a staff-to-guest ratio that borders on theatrical. Rooms run floor-to-ceiling glass and automatic everything, with soaking tubs large enough to raise questions about your water bill.

    The awards

  13. Floor-to-ceiling illuminated pillars playing curated digital art greet you before you even reach the casino floor, which sets the tone for this sprawling Strip resort. The Cosmopolitan runs a serious collection of restaurants from celebrity chefs, popular bars, boutique shops, and a pool scene that converts to an ice rink come winter. The crowd skews stylish and self-aware, which fits a hotel that opened during a recession and never once acted like it.

  14. The take-home price on any bottle you fall for is half off, which tells you the kind of wine bar this is. Tucked into the Arts District, Garagiste is a low-key room built around boutique pours from the less-traveled wine regions, with a list that shifts constantly. Tasting flights let you range around without committing. No garlic butter nearby threatening the palate. A James Beard Outstanding Bar nominee in 2023.

  15. No casino floor, no cigarette haze: the Waldorf Astoria sits inside the CityCenter complex as a quiet outlier on the Strip. The 47-story hotel leans hard into the lobby, where 11,000 square feet of Italian Calacatta Gold marble meets a custom crystal chandelier and two-story ceilings. Renovated rooms run to deep-soaking tubs and floor-to-ceiling views of the city below. The 23rd-floor bar is the right place to watch the neon from a comfortable distance.

    The awards

  16. Wood-paneled walls, low ceilings, and stacks of empty beer cans that the owners drank themselves make this Gateway District beer bar feel like a 1970s Midwest den that somehow got transplanted to Las Vegas. The rotating draft list is the point, and bartenders will steer you through it without making you feel like a student. The Underberg shot at the end is apparently non-negotiable. Wildsam named it one of the 50 most essential bars in America.

  17. The grand lobby is all white marble, cherry blossom wall panels, and a sculptural fixture hanging in a 26-foot vaulted ceiling, a deliberate exhale from the massive LED tower blazing outside. Crockfords is a Forbes Four Star luxury hotel tucked inside Resorts World, and the contrast is the whole point. Rooms extend to villas and palaces, a dedicated ambassador is on call around the clock, and the casino, restaurants, and theater are right there when the calm wears off.

    The awards

  18. Six named villas tucked inside Caesars Palace's Octavius Tower, each running around 10,000 square feet and each with its own aquarium, because a marble soaking tub and a private home theater are apparently just table stakes. This Forbes Four Star enclave is a suite hotel for people who find regular suites a little cramped, with a double-sided fireplace, a dining table for twelve, and Roman emperor branding taken completely seriously.

    The awards

  19. The six-acre pool deck alone gives you some sense of the scale here. This resort on the Strip draws from its Miami Beach namesake but runs considerably larger and louder, with a vast casino, a 3,800-seat theatre, and a spa that requires its own navigation. Rooms are plush without apology. The dining lineup reads like a celebrity-chef roll call. The Michelin Guide awarded it one Key.

  20. Rank 20. The Chandelier

    Cocktail Bar

Two million crystals drape from floor to ceiling across three floors, which is either maximalist or just correct for Las Vegas. The Chandelier is a cocktail lounge inside the Cosmopolitan, and each level is technically its own bar, from the casino-facing ground floor up to the quieter top lounge. Ask for the Verbena, an off-menu drink with a buzz button flower that momentarily numbs your mouth before the cocktail lands.

  21. Rank 22. The Golden Tiki

    Cocktail Bar

Leopard print, bamboo pagodas, faux foliage, and video poker embedded in the bar top: this Chinatown tiki bar on Spring Mountain Road commits to the bit completely. The strip-mall address keeps the tourist bustle down, so the stools fill with off-shift locals who treat it like their living room. The drinks are tropical and potent, the kitsch is sincere rather than ironic, and the whole place feels like Vegas decided to throw a luau and never stopped.

  22. Gold hands serve as beer taps, jewel-toned decanters fill a Queen Anne cabinet, and the wallpaper is not quite what it seems. Velveteen Rabbit is a cocktail bar in the Arts District that takes the storybook theme seriously without going precious about it: seasonal menus, vintage glassware, and drinks rooted in Golden Age mixology. The patio and light-projected walls are draws on their own. Weekends fill up, so book ahead.

  23. The fountain show out front sets the tone: this is Las Vegas at its most theatrical, and the hotel leans into every inch of it. Inside, a 50-foot glass conservatory fills with thousands of blooming plants, changed out seasonally by a crew that takes the assignment very seriously. The resort runs a full roster of restaurants, from Picasso to Michael Mina, plus a buffet that has no interest in pretending to be modest.

  24. The dirty martini here landed on Esquire's list of the finest in the country, which tracks: the bar occupies the old Picasso space at the Bellagio, with the fountains putting on their show just outside. It's the cocktail outpost of the Carbone empire, so the room skews dressed-up and the pours skew generous. Order the martini, watch the water, and feel no obligation to explain yourself.

  25. A donkey illustration on an easy-to-miss door inside the Cosmopolitan's Block 16 Food Hall is all the signage this dimly lit agave bar bothers with. Red string lights, floral murals, and a serious list of tequilas and mezcals fill the rest of the room. The nachos come loaded with toppings that make you look twice at the menu. Time Out named it one of the best bars in Las Vegas, which feels about right for somewhere this committed to being hard to find.

  26. To get into this speakeasy cocktail bar inside the Horseshoe, you pick up a phone, answer a riddle, and crawl through an entrance. The bar itself looks like a haunted Victorian study, shelves packed with odd artifacts and enough atmosphere to make you forget you're technically in a casino basement. Cocktails run strong and strange, and there's a dedicated mixology classroom if you want to learn why your drink tastes like that.

  28. Bardot is a Michael Mina brasserie tucked inside Aria, a windowless black-and-white room where it's always a flattering 8 p.m. and fresh flowers cover every surface. A shellfish cart rolls past, a martini program has its own national press, and at brunch someone sings Shania Twain over the croissants. It's a dressy-casual, mid-to-upper price French spot, and it holds three AAA diamonds.

  29. Liberace's mirrored Nickelodeon piano sits in the lobby next to a hovering Holos sculpture and a cluster of pink elephants floating in painted bubbles, which is a normal amount of art for a hotel check-in. The Conrad is the largest in its brand, a full-service Las Vegas hotel tower where the rooms lean into the same bold palette. The casino, a 5,000-seat theater, and 40 places to eat and drink are all on the same campus.

    The awards

  30. Nocturno is a low-lit Arts District cocktail bar with a menu of over 100 drinks, which is a lot of homework before your first sip. Sit at the bar instead and the bartender will quiz you on your favorite spirit, then turn it into something like mezcal with honey and chili. The kitchen sends out gnocchi and a fried potato tower, and the smash burger shows up only on Sundays. It was a James Beard Best New Bar semifinalist.

  31. Two blocks off the Strip, this all-suite hotel skips the casino floor entirely, which means no slot machines, no cigarette fog, and no one blocking your path with a yard-long cocktail at nine in the morning. The 64-story gold-and-glass tower is exactly as understated as it sounds, with Swarovski chandeliers and marble lobbies doing the heavy lifting. Good option if you want Vegas proximity without full immersion in the spectacle.

    The awards

  32. You get in by pressing a paw-shaped doorbell, which sets the tone. Doberman Drawing Room is a cocktail lounge and social club in the Arts District, dressed in antiques, taxidermy, and surreal art, with a central bar dividing the room into separate moody dens. Non-members are welcome; members get the private loft with a juliet balcony. No phones, no photos, charcuterie served inside a hollowed book, and cocktails that are genuinely the point.

  33. The sunken firepit shoots flames over a pool of sky-blue water, which tells you most of what you need to know about the Fireside Lounge. It's a lounge bar at the Peppermill, frozen in an era of plastic plants, purple mood lighting, and couch fabric that looks like stone. Tiki drinks arrive in 64-ounce fishbowls. Bon Jovi videos play overhead. The crowd is hard-drinking and completely unbothered, which is the only correct response.

  34. Hand-carved wooden statues, glowing pufferfish lamps, and tree-trunk chairs that take two people to lift set the tone at this classic tiki bar off Charleston. The drinks are ranked by booziness on a five-skull scale, which is the kind of menu design that tells you everything you need to know. Most people clutching souvenir mugs near the back came here on purpose, on something of a pilgrimage, and they planned the whole trip around it.

  36. Rank 33. Stray Pirate

    Dog-Inspired Tiki Bar

The walls of this pirate-themed tiki bar are hung with portraits of distinguished canine buccaneers, which alone tells you something about the commitment level here. The lore involves a cursed ship, a sea witch, and a crew turned into dogs, and it's fully committed to the bit without letting the theatrics crowd out the drinks. Traditional tiki pours sit alongside inventive originals, and the cocktail menu earns its keep on its own terms.

  37. Muddy Waters and B.B. King both played this no-frills blues bar near Chinatown, which tells you something about the room. Live music runs every night of the week, and between sets the crowd shoots pool and orders pizza to soak up the local craft beer. The seasonal Halloween and Christmas pop-ups have become their own draw, which is a funny fate for a place with that kind of history, but the bar handles both versions of itself with ease.

  38. This is a velvet-draped, 1920s-style cocktail parlor, reached by slipping behind the doughnut stand inside Aria's food hall, which is about as speakeasy as a doughnut counter can make you feel. Live jazz fills the room most nights, and the drinks arrive with props: mushroom-shaped glasses on a mossy board, a Manhattan in a cigar box. Dress for a date, and bring someone who won't mind sharing the dry ice.

  39. A lone clothespin near the door is the only sign you're in the right place. This 22-seat speakeasy inside Commonwealth runs on cryptic reservation clues, a red light for walk-ins, and a ceiling lined with antique doors staring down at you. The cocktail menu here doesn't overlap with what the main bar pours, and the vintage Hollywood portraits on the walls set a mood that takes itself seriously, which the drinks earn the right to match.

  40. Rank 41. Legacy Club

On the 60th floor of Circa, this rooftop lounge opens onto a sweeping outdoor terrace with fire pits and a view that makes the Strip look like a diorama. Inside, red velvet banquettes and illuminated sculptures of Vegas legends set the mood, and 500 custom gold bars frame the entryway like the lobby of an excellent bad decision. 41. A boutique-within-a-hotel concept tucked inside Park MGM, this feels like it belongs on a different block than the Strip. Jacques Garcia designed the rooms, which means rich fabrics and a faint sense of old-world theater. By day the pool is a pool; by evening it tilts Moroccan and nightclub. The bar and restaurant spread through the common spaces the way they do in New York and Los Angeles, which is to say they take over completely.

    The awards

  42. A compact caviar and seafood bar just off the Caesars Palace casino floor, where Pringles arrive with caviar French onion dip and nobody blinks. The real trick is a life-sized portrait of a sailing captain that swings open onto a purple-and-turquoise room with a stage, hosting yacht rock nights and karaoke. Expect smoked Old Fashioneds, espresso martinis, and strangers committing to "I Will Always Love You."

  43. The pool deck has a screen so large it registers as a geographic feature. Circa is an adults-only casino resort on Fremont Street, a deliberate step away from the Strip, with a mid-century modernist look that leans into Vegas glamour without tipping into kitsch. The casino, sports-betting floor, and a stack of bars and restaurants fill the rest of the building for anyone who surfaces from the water.

    The awards

  44. The entrance is a walk-in freezer at the back of a Downtown ice cream shop, which is the kind of plot twist a Las Vegas cocktail bar can get away with. On the other side is an Old Hollywood-style hideaway serving movie-themed drinks, some arriving in milk pint glasses. You can also roll a pair of dice and let the bartenders improvise around your fate. Dress for a drink, not a sundae.

  45. Rank 43. Más Por Favor

    Mexican Cocktail Bar

Past a door that makes very little effort to hide, this cave-like cocktail bar sits behind a taco spot in a busy Chinatown plaza. The drinks lean loud: tequila infused with Flamin' Hot Cheetos, mezcal with chamoy, a margarita lightened with a splash of Corona. The kitchen next door keeps the snacks coming, birria ramen included, so nobody has to leave the cave hungry.

  46. Three towers, each decorated in a different eclectic style, make SAHARA feel less like a single hotel than a small, casino-anchored neighborhood. The Rat Pack used to haunt the original, but the current version skipped the nostalgia and went full 21st century instead. José Andrés's Bazaar Meat anchors the dining, multiple pools and a spa handle the daylight hours, and live residencies fill the theatre after dark.

  47. The Underground is a Prohibition-themed speakeasy tucked beneath the Mob Museum, and yes, there's a daily password, which the museum's website will hand over to anyone who asks nicely. The brick walls double as a 1920s exhibit hall, with flapper outfits and a cocktail kit hidden in a briefcase. It also runs its own working moonshine distillery, so the bootlegging is technically legal, which is the one disappointing part.

  49. A hotel with over 1,500 rooms that somehow still has a personality, Virgin Las Vegas leans into its brand's irreverence rather than the usual Vegas gilded-palace routine. The pool situation is a full beach club, there's a Nobu on property, and the entertainment calendar runs more interesting than most strips along the Strip. The Michelin Guide has it among its selected hotels, which tracks for a place that treats design as something other than an afterthought.

  51. Cleaver is a steakhouse just off the Strip where the portraits are Napoleonic-era military figures, except the generals are Queen Latifah and Jack Black. The bar's cocktail menu is sorted by era, starting in the mid-1800s, and the bar team took a Spirited Award in 2024 for Best U.S. Restaurant Bar. 52. Rank 52. The Vault

    Cocktail Bar

The Vault is a cocktail bar tucked behind a gilded door inside the Bellagio, occupying what used to be the casino's actual cage, which gives the whole room a pleasantly loaded history. A chandelier does most of the atmospheric heavy lifting. The drink list leans into vintage spirits and old recipes, so if you're not sure what you want, describe an era and let them run with it.

    The awards

  53. Rank 54. Bar Ginza

    Japanese Cocktail Bar

Hand-cut blocks of ice imported from Japan are the first clue that this isn't a typical whiskey bar. Tucked into the Las Vegas Arts District, Bar Ginza models itself on the quiet whiskey bars of Tokyo, with more than 90 Japanese bottles lining brick walls and flights structured as an omakase. If you don't know where to start, the co-owner behind the bar is happy to pour his way through an education.

  54. Collins is the lobby bar at Fontainebleau, where deep blue furniture and gold trim set the tone and a live piano does the rest. The cocktail list pairs house originals with throwback drinks from the 1930s, so the bartenders can make a proper old-fashioned or a Viva Villa without a lecture. Come in before a show or after a long flight, when you want one decent drink and no sprint through a casino floor.

  55. Rank 55. Gigolo

    Cocktail Bar

A five-foot resin Pomeranian sets the tone for this dark, moody cocktail lounge inside the Vanderpump Hotel on the Strip. Lisa Vanderpump's Las Vegas footprint runs to black-and-red decor, a martini for two arriving on a skewer of a dozen-odd olives, and a cocktail that comes with caviar. The house gimmick of sealing a secret into a tiny envelope and locking it in a vault is either charming or deeply on-brand, depending on your relationship with reality television.

  57. The sign above the door reads "Getting Vegas Drunk Since 1962," and the bar delivers on that promise without much fuss. Dino's is a neon-free dive near the Arts District where drinks are cheap and the crowd skews toward people who own at least one ska-related t-shirt. Thursday through Saturday after ten, karaoke takes over the tiny stage and things get appropriately messy. Celebrities have been known to slip in for a song, which is very on-brand for a city like this.

  58. Graffiti and stickers cover every surface, dollar bills hang from the ceiling, and the smell of day-old bacon grease meets you at the door. Double Down is a dive bar in the Fruit Loop that's been hosting punk shows and burlesque nights since forever, drawing tattooed regulars and older locals who never look up from the video poker machines. Order a PBR, order an Ass Juice shot, and lower your expectations to CBGB levels accordingly.

  59. Ballpoint pen drawings cover every wall of this tiny lounge at The Venetian, which is doing its best Shinjuku Golden Gai impression, and pulling it off better than it has any right to. DJs push house music loud enough to rattle the sake glasses while the drinks lean Japanese, gin and matcha cocktails alongside serious whiskey pours. Small and clubby, with neon doing most of the decorating.

  60. Rank 63. Hard Shake

    Japanese

The wraparound windows put both ends of the Strip in frame at once, the Eiffel Tower on one side and MGM's emerald glow on the other. This moody cocktail lounge inside the Waldorf Astoria runs Japanese-leaning bar snacks alongside drinks like a cherry cola old fashioned, and the vibe is firmly date-night. Go for the view, stay for the cocktails, and accept that you probably won't need dinner after.

  61. Velvet couches and Victorian flourishes make this cocktail bar inside the Venetian feel like a drawing room where someone definitely had an affair. The drinks lean inventive and precise, with one arriving in a Viking horn-shaped glass, which is either theatrical or inspired depending on your mood. One of three strong cocktail options in the same hotel, Juliet is the one that leans opulent and a little moody.

  66. A Strip diner that has been waving off the casino buffets for decades, with fake trees, flamingo lamps, and enough neon to make the omelets feel like a decision. Out back, the lounge has sunken booths, water features, and scorpion bowls, a James Beard America's Classics winner that somehow still runs all night. Hungover tourists and bikers split plates of marinara-soaked eggs, and no one finds this strange.

  68. Rank 63. Petrossian Bar

    Cocktail Bar

The pianist in a bow tie playing show tunes while couples in cocktail attire eat caviar off gold-leafed tacos is either your scene or it isn't. This upscale piano bar inside the Bellagio has a front-row view of the Dale Chihuly glass ceiling and leans hard into the caviar service. Classics, bellinis and Negronis, are the move at the bar. James Bond would approve, though he'd probably skip the lavender basil lemon drop.

  69. The windows project a fake thunderstorm over the Eiffel Tower, which tells you everything about the vibe here. This French-ish cocktail lounge at Paris Las Vegas leans hard into gothic Baroque camp, all purple booths and tiered birdcages of figs and cheese, with lychee martinis keeping the Housewives faithful cheerful through the manufactured lightning. It's Lisa Vanderpump's name on the door, and no one inside is pretending otherwise.

  72. Getting into this off-Strip speakeasy means ringing a football, which feels like a sentence from a fever dream, and then supplying a password you only get by booking ahead. A host in a vest and flat cap works the room while jazz singers handle the stage, and you can request an unlikely cover from the lounge. It's an Italian steakhouse in costume, so the red leather booths fill up with tourists.

  74. Dark Arts is a cocktail lounge hidden behind the fireplace at Grey Witch, which means you enter by walking past some LED flames like a very polite arsonist. Inside is a hunting lodge gone gothic, with animal bones, tarot art, and dried wildflowers. The drinks lean on warming spices and herbs, and there's a deep tobacco list. It's only open a few nights a week, so check Instagram before you go knocking on hearths.

  76. Getting in means walking through a brightly lit sundry shop that sells newspapers and cherry blossom Kit Kats, then pushing a bookcase that leans inward to reveal a dim cocktail bar. Red lanterns glow overhead, neon tigers face off above leather booths, and the Japanese whiskey list rewards lingering. It sits in the Resorts World food hall, so expect conventioneers feeling very clever.

  78. The unmarked door is the whole point. Tucked behind the sushi counter at the Venetian, this speakeasy bar keeps a low profile by design, with a full bar, ube espresso martinis, and snacks that skew sharper than the hand rolls out front. Convention-goers grabbing a boxed set to-go have no idea it's back there, which is more or less how the regulars prefer it.

  80. Rank 81. Secret Pizza

    New York Pizzeria

Secret Pizza is a counter slice shop on the third floor of the Cosmopolitan, reached by a hallway of Rat Pack-era record sleeves that makes the whole thing feel like a bit. The secret got out years ago. Now it's a New York-style slice reheated until it could laminate your fingers, handed over by a quick-moving crew to bleary-eyed clubgoers who eat standing up in a tiny square room or carry it off into the night.

  82. Rank 81. WAKUDA

    Japanese

Tetsuya Wakuda made Las Vegas his US debut, reportedly because the Strip's energy reminded him of Shinjuku, which is either a compliment or a warning depending on your tolerance for spectacle. This fine dining room inside The Venetian pulls Japanese seafood, Canadian lobster, and Tasmanian oysters into a menu that moves between traditional and contemporary Japanese cooking. A hidden omakase room exists for those who know to ask, with rare whisky alongside the meal.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
