The 45 Best Places to Eat and Drink in Henderson

The best places to eat and drink in Henderson, according to the experts: International Baking Industry Expo, James Beard Awards, and The Las Vegas Review Journal have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Valerio’s Bakeshop comes out on top.

More Less

Aroma Latin American Cocina and Bottiglia Enoteca hold the next two places. Eater shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with The Las Vegas Review Journal next.

Departments

A department belongs to one section, so choosing one narrows the list to it.

  1. Bottiglia is a Tuscan enoteca out in Henderson whose weekend brunch doubles as a dress-code experiment, with a sunny dining room full of groups in their flashiest outfits working through bottomless mimosas and Aperol spritzes. A shellfish tower shares the table with avocado toast, and dessert is a chocolate stiletto made of ladyfingers and mascarpone, which is a sentence you only get to say at brunch.

  2. Hank's is a Henderson steakhouse with white tablecloths and glowing fireplaces, plus a piano bar where a cover band might be working through Sublime while you hold a half-off dirty martini. The happy hour menu is the steakhouse-lite route, all tiny tuna tacos and beef wellington bites in beer cheese, though the full dinner runs to Kobe ribeye sold by the ounce, so bring a calculator or a generous spouse.

  9. The coffee roasting happens right on the premises, which means the Henderson strip-mall exterior is a bit misleading. Dark Moon is a coffee shop that takes its work seriously, roasting in-house, making its own syrups and cold brew, and supplying beans to retailers across Southern Nevada. The bar seats are good for a quick espresso or a long morning with a laptop. Order the pour-over if you want proof the sourcing isn't an afterthought.

  11. Hayworth is a Jewish steakhouse in Henderson, which means challah knots where the dinner rolls would be and whipped chicken schmaltz where the butter usually goes. It's dressed-up date-night territory, with plush booths, icy martinis, and well-dressed neighbors airing grievances about their cooling bills over latkes crowned with roe. The pastrami is finished with bone marrow jus, and the babka comes home with you.

  13. Anthony's is the M Resort steakhouse in Henderson, where the Sunday brunch buffet runs on a steakhouse budget and carries a price tag closer to a Strip dinner than a morning meal. The spread skips the usual sad chafing dishes for snow crab legs, beef Wellington, and prime rib. The patio looks out at the Strip from a safe distance, and reservations are limited, so book early.

  14. Dark Arts is a cocktail lounge hidden behind the fireplace at Grey Witch, which means you enter by walking past some LED flames like a very polite arsonist. Inside is a hunting lodge gone gothic, with animal bones, tarot art, and dried wildflowers. The drinks lean on warming spices and herbs, and there's a deep tobacco list. It's only open a few nights a week, so check Instagram before you go knocking on hearths.

  15. Rank 20. Gen Korean BBQ

    All-you-can-eat Korean Barbecue

  16. Rank 20. SMKD BBQ

    Barbecue

SMKD is a casual Henderson barbecue joint whose name is an anagram, a bit of wordplay that tells you the owners also like puzzles. You order at a plate-and-sides counter, and the meat runs from brisket and burnt ends to smoked pastrami, with a barbecue head of cauliflower for the vegetarian at the table. The sides lean ambitious, potato kugel and sweet potato hush puppies included, so wear something forgiving.

  17. Tokyo Boys is a sushi restaurant in Henderson wearing the stainless-steel shell of a 1950s diner, which makes the omakase-grade fish inside feel like a plot twist. The old diner counter now serves as the sushi bar, and it's the seat to take. The chef came up through Nobu, so a famous yellowtail jalapeño turns up here at a fraction of Strip pricing. Come in a T-shirt and don't expect a velvet rope.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
