Barista Del Barrio is a counter-service Mexican spot on Grande Avenue where the burritos get pressed on the grill until they could pass for paninis, then arrive two to an order. The house chorizo runs heavy on red chile and sheds orange oil down your wrists, so grab extra napkins. The chef was a James Beard Semifinalist for Best Chef: Southwest, which the paper-towel-and-cup-of-coffee setting politely ignores.
