The parquet floors and panelled ceiling upstairs could pass for an old Dublin drawing room, which sets the tone for this traditional Irish pub and kitchen near Merchants Quay. Most people come to eat, and the Michelin Bib Gourmand crowd is rewarded with cooking that moves comfortably between cock-a-leekie pie and lighter modern plates. Grab a ground-floor table near the open kitchen if you want to feel the room; upstairs is quieter and considerably more wood.
