The best places in Pearland, according to the experts: AAA, the Michelin Guide, and Texas Monthly have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Killen's BBQ comes out on top.
More Less
Atchafalaya Crawfish and BB's Tex-Orleans hold the next two places. Houstonia shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with AAA next.

Rank 1. Killen's BBQ
Barbecue
The line forms before the doors open at eleven, and the crowd moves fast through what was once Pearland's first school cafeteria. This is a serious Texas barbecue joint with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, where the beef rib comes off the smoker out back with a crust of salt and pepper and a give that a spoon could handle. The pork belly burnt ends in pepper jelly sauce are the kind of thing your cardiologist would prefer you not know about.

Houston Barbecue
This Pearland outpost of a Houston barbecue mini-empire started small in Acres Homes and picked up an Anthony Bourdain nod on the way to four locations. It's a casual counter-service joint where the baked potato can weigh ten pounds and feed fifteen, which is less a side dish than a group project. Ribs, links, and chicken round out the plates, and you can also buy the stuff at Kroger, in case a drive feels like too much.

Rank 2. Killen's Steakhouse
Steakhouse
Pearland is not where most people expect to find a white-tablecloth steakhouse, which may explain the permanent crowd of pickup-order patrons outside. This is the fine dining side of a barbecue heavyweight's empire, so book ahead and dress like you're being seen. Wagyu runs the menu, sourced from three countries, and the beef wellington arrives under shaved black truffle. Creme brulee cheesecake closes things out, as it should.
