The best French food in Denver, according to the experts: Westword, the Michelin Guide, and The Infatuation have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Brasserie Brixton comes out on top.
More Less
Le French and Palace Arms hold the next two places. Westword shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with 5280 next.

Rank 1. Brasserie Brixton
Rustic French
A North Denver brasserie modeled on the casual wine bars of Montreal, which explains both the natural wine list and the fact that nobody feels overdressed in flannel. The menu runs steak frites and chicken fricassee alongside blood sausage fried wontons, which is either an identity crisis or a perfectly good reason to order both. Westword named it the best restaurant for a breakup, which is a compliment, however you slice it.

Rank 4. La Fillette Bakery
French Bakery
La Fillette is a French bakery in Montclair, wedged between a 7-Eleven and a nail salon, which is about as Parisian as East 14th Avenue gets. The pastry case holds croissants, kouign-amanns, and chocolate-dipped eclairs, and lunch means sandwiches on house-made bread. There's also green chile soup, apparently a legal requirement for any Denver menu. Order at the counter, eat with flaky sleeves.

Rank 6. Bistro Vendôme
French
A shady patio and a menu that runs from onion soup and escargot to whatever the season suggests: this is a proper French bistro, not a beret-and-accordion situation. The team behind it has a reputation for warm rooms and real hospitality, and the Park Hill dining room earns it. Order the steak frites or linger over happy-hour bubbles; the pacing is entirely up to you.
