Rank 1. Da Flavio e Fabrizio "Al Teatro"
Venetian Seafood
The restaurant sits beside a cinema-theatre on a quiet stretch of Mirano, and the fish on your plate came off the boat that morning. It's a casual, neighborhood seafood trattoria rooted in the Venetian lagoon tradition, the kind of place where the recipes haven't changed because there's no reason they should. The pannacotta with fresh strawberry sauce is a regular on the menu. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, and the wine-by-the-glass list is chosen to keep pace with the food.

Rank 1. Il Sogno
Traditional Italian
A farmhouse dining room in the Mirano countryside where the menu runs on traditional Veneto cooking and the prices stay sensible enough that nobody winces. The feel is country house rather than restaurant, all warm rooms and staff who seem pleased to see you. A Michelin Bib Gourmand recognizes the kitchen's commitment to proper ingredients without the usual markup that tends to follow such attention.

Rank 3. Surlì Più Pizzeria
Pizzeria
A pizzeria in the Venetian hinterland where the dough gets lighter every season and the seafood toppings are worth the detour from Venice proper. The beer list is taken as seriously as the pizza, which tells you something about the crowd. Dessert shows up at the end, which sounds obvious until it doesn't, and here it earns its place. A neighborhood spot that keeps quietly raising its own bar.
