The best places to eat and drink in Marietta, according to the experts: Michelin Guide, Eater, and James Beard Awards have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Spring comes out on top.
More Less
Marietta Proper and Seed Kitchen & Bar hold the next two places. AAA and Eater show up on more of this list than any other guide.

Rank 1. Spring
Contemporary American
Exposed brick and a vaulted dark-wood ceiling set the tone at this Michelin-starred fine dining room in downtown Marietta, where the menu is short by design and the cooking lets ingredients argue for themselves. The chef keeps things deceptively simple, which is harder than it looks. The wine list has real range. A James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef: Southeast, this is the kind of place that makes Marietta a destination, not a detour.

Art deco bones and a sparkling wine list longer than most bars have wines: Marietta Proper is a wine bar on the historic square that also does cocktails, whiskeys, coffee, and a short food menu of sandwiches and pastries. The team behind it includes a sommelier, which shows. A James Beard semifinalist for Best New Bar in 2025, it draws the kind of crowd that knows the difference between pét-nat and Champagne and orders both.

Rank 3. Seed Kitchen & Bar
Contemporary American
The covered patio next to the bar is where Marietta regulars tend to settle in for the long haul. This neighborhood American restaurant runs a seasonal menu built around local and organic sourcing, which in practice means dishes like miso maple-glazed scallops and lavender honey duck breast sharing space with a chicken schnitzel that apparently nobody can leave without ordering. Servers know the menu well enough to actually help. A comfortable, unhurried room without any pretense about it.
