The best Peruvian food in Brazil, according to the experts: the Michelin Guide has weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Ama.zo - Cozinha Peruana comes out on top, and the good stuff runs deepest in São Paulo.

Rank 1. Ama.zo - Cozinha Peruana
Andean Peruvian
Dinner here unfolds in the garden of a century-old house, under a barely-there roof and the canopy of old jabuticabeira trees, with a semi-open kitchen visible at the back. The chef runs an Andean Peruvian menu that pulls in Amazonian ingredients and local Brazilian produce, so the flavors land somewhere genuinely unexpected. The crowd tends to arrive curious and leave slightly converted, which is about as good an evening as São Paulo offers.

Rank 1. Ama.zo - Pátio Higienópolis
Peruvian
A terrace strung with plants and Peruvian art sits just outside the Pátio Higienópolis mall, which is a more charming setup than that sentence suggests. This is a Peruvian restaurant where the Lima-born chef weaves Amazon ingredients through traditional technique, so ceviche and causa limeña share the menu with local river fish. The Suspiro Limeño dessert, built around dulce de leche and a quinoa meringue, has a following of its own.

Peruvian Steakhouse
The calling card is dry-aged Wagyu and Vaca Velha rested to the chef's specification, which tells you where this meat-forward restaurant's priorities lie. Renzo Garibaldi built his name in Peru as a butcher's butcher before opening this São Paulo outpost, and the sourcing from sustainable producers is the whole argument. Ribeye, picanha, short ribs, and aged Angus share the menu with ceviche and Josper-grilled fish, so non-carnivores won't suffer. The wine list is long and the room is polished.
