You ring a doorbell to get in, which sets the tone for what follows. Encanto is José Avillez's intimate vegetarian tasting menu restaurant, tucked next to his Belcanto, with books lining the walls and arching overhead like a cozy fever dream of a library. The menu is strictly plant-based, seasonally driven, and technically serious, paired with biodynamic wines and house-made kombuchas. It holds a Michelin star, which the vegetables apparently earned on their own terms.
