The best French food in Seattle, according to the experts: The New York Times, Seattle Met, and AAA have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Off Alley comes out on top.
More Less
Le Pichet and Place Pigalle hold the next two places. Seattle Met and The New York Times show up on more of this list than any other guide.

Rank 1. Off Alley
Lyonnaise Bouchon
Twelve seats in a brick corridor, a chalkboard that changes daily, and a chef who treats gooseneck barnacles as a reasonable Tuesday ingredient. Off Alley is an intimate Pacific Northwest tasting spot where foie gras might end up as ice cream and snails arrive on sourdough with bone marrow butter, though the stranger touches tend to punctuate dishes that are, underneath it all, quietly seasonal and elegant. The New York Times put it on their restaurant list, and the staff describe every plate like they can't quite believe it either.

Rank 2. Le Pichet
Parisian Bistro
The all-day cafe format predates every trend that claims to have invented it, and Le Pichet has been running it quietly near Pike Place for ages. It's a French bistro, the straightforward kind, with charcuterie and wine available at hours when most kitchens are between meals. The room has a Parisian neighborhood feel that doesn't require much imagination to buy into. A charcuterie plate and a carafe have a way of turning into dinner without anyone deciding that was the plan.
