The best Mediterranean food in Ireland, according to the experts: the Michelin Guide and Eater have both weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Kicky's comes out on top, and the good stuff runs deepest in Dublin and Blackrock.
More Less
Note and Saint Francis Provisions hold the next two places. The Michelin Guide shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with Eater next.

Rank 1. Note
Modern Mediterranean
A wine bar turned bistro on Fenian Street, Note has a subtle retro feel and a menu that changes daily, pulling from the Mediterranean for its flavors. The cooking is unfussy, the wines skew natural and organic, and the team at the long counter will happily talk you through both. The kind of place where the room is relaxed enough that you don't feel rushed into a decision, which is fortunate given how good the wine list sounds.

Rank 3. Saint Francis Provisions
Mediterranean
Fifteen seats in a small dining room in the middle of a colourful Cork harbour town, and the place earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand doing it. Saint Francis Provisions is a casual sharing-plates spot with a daily-changing Mediterranean menu that leans hard on local produce. The all-natural wine list is short and considered, and the service runs warm without trying too hard. Book ahead, or you won't fit.

Rank 4. Comet
Mediterranean
Wood panelling and a compact room on a quiet lane in the city centre, Comet is a small, intimate restaurant pulling from the Mediterranean and whatever's good closer to home. The kitchen leans into restraint, letting things like a bowl of ripe baby tomatoes in their own juices carry the evening. Liver parfait with fermented blood orange is a strong opening move. It fills up, so the room has a proper hum to it most nights.

Rank 4. Volpe Nera
Modern Mediterranean
The name splits the difference between Blackrock and Foxrock, which gives you a sense of the neighborhood. This is a modern Mediterranean restaurant spread over two floors, quieter upstairs and livelier down where the open kitchen adds to the noise. The menu moves with the seasons and isn't shy about mixing ossocollo with shiitake dumplings. The wine list is carefully chosen, and the team actually knows it.
