The best Indian food in Las Vegas, according to the experts: AAA, the James Beard Awards, and The Infatuation have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Tamba comes out on top.

More Less

Gymkhana and Sushi Love - Las Vegas hold the next two places. Eater shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with AAA next.

  1. Rank 1. Tamba

    Modern Indian

Oysters dressed with curry emulsions and Kashmiri chili signal right away that this modern Indian restaurant is not following a familiar script. The menu traces the chef's path through the Maldives, Seychelles, and beyond, so coastal raw bar items sit alongside the subcontinent's spice pantry without apology. The room leans toward subdued opulence, the plating rewards a camera, and a James Beard nominee for Best New Restaurant keeps the ambitions in view.

  2. The reservation line forms before doors open, which tells you everything about the temperature of this contemporary Indian restaurant inside the Aria. The room is all velvet and low light, the service is composed, and the kitchen pulls from street-food traditions without being precious about it. Curries are built for sharing and arrive bold enough to hold the table's attention, even by Las Vegas standards.

  3. The awards

  4. This is a sit-down Indian restaurant that happens to share a block with the Atomic Testing Museum, so you can study nuclear history and then eat something that will test your own tolerance. The menu covers north and south, with chaat, dosas, and lamb lollipops, plus a lunch buffet with a salad and chaat bar. The inferno menu ends in a curry challenge, and finishing it earns a $50 gift card. Reservations are required.

  5. Rank 4. Saffron Flavors of India

    Traditional Indian

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
