The best Korean food in Singapore, according to the experts: Michelin Guide and The 50 have both weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Meta comes out on top.

More Less

Nae:Um and Cote Korean Steakhouse hold the next two places. The 50 shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with Michelin Guide next.

  1. Rank 1. Meta

    Modern Korean

Black awnings and concrete floors set the mood at Meta, a fine dining restaurant on Mohamed Sultan Road where Sun Kim's cooking is the real architecture. His menus blend French technique with Korean ingredients and Japanese influence, shaped by time in Sydney under Tetsuya Wakuda. Six and eight-course menus follow, composed and precise. Meta holds two Michelin stars and a spot on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list.

  2. Rank 2. Nae:Um

    Contemporary Korean

Each seasonal tasting menu at this fine dining restaurant arrives framed as an "episode," with past chapters organized around Jeju Island, a sunset walk along the Han River, and a backyard barbecue. Chef Louis Han reinterprets Korean nostalgic cooking through Western technique, so cold buckwheat noodles become haute cuisine and a buttery sauce quietly channels a spicy fish stew. It landed on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list, and the intimate shophouse room, all cream and warm light, keeps the focus on the plates.

  4. Rank 4. Na Oh

    Contemporary Korean

Contemporary Korean dining inside a Hyundai robotics factory is a sentence that requires no embellishment. Na Oh sits on the third floor of Singapore's HMGICS smart innovation hub, shaped by the culinary vision of Corey Lee of San Francisco's Benu. The name translates loosely as "moving from the inside out," which is either a philosophy or a very good description of what a good meal does to you.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
