  2. Bright walls and mismatched metal chairs set the mood before the food even arrives at this cheerful arepa shop in Avondale Estates. The Venezuelan menu centers on grilled arepas stuffed with fillings like pernil with caramelized onions, alongside cachapas and patacones. Portions run generous, and the full bar leans into rum. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which tracks for a place this upbeat about what it's doing.

  6. The old stockyards and rail lines that once defined West Midtown are still in the bones of this hotel. Rooms come with folding writer's desks and window seats angled at the skyline, and suites add Japanese soaking tubs for anyone who needs to decompress after a day in the galleries. Drawbar handles cocktails and Southern food with city views, and a lobby market covers the rest. The Garden Courtyard offers outdoor air in a neighborhood that traded freight for creative industry.

  13. Rank 201. Estrellita

    Modern Filipino

A small, walk-in-only Filipino restaurant in Grant Park where the kitchen is simultaneously running dine-in, takeout, and catering without breaking a sweat. The menu leans into classics: lechon roasted Cebu-style with lemongrass and crispy skin, lumpia in beef and vegetable forms. Expect a wait, because patience is baked into the deal here. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks for a place this compact and this focused.

  19. A compact sandwich counter inside Krog Street Market, Fred's holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and earns it by committing fully to the mess. The menu moves from burgers to banh mi to cheesesteaks without any identity crisis, and the pimento cheese club, seared bread and all, makes a convincing case that restraint is overrated. Lines form fast and the room doesn't get bigger.

  34. Rank 201. Lyla Lila

    Mediterranean

Pasta anchors the menu at this Southern European restaurant on Peachtree, where the kitchen leans moody in both decor and ambition. The room has that dark, close-quarters energy that makes a long dinner feel intentional, and the cooking moves from duck lasagna with cocoa béchamel through veal Milanese without losing the thread. A Michelin Selected pick that landed on the New York Times restaurant list.

  35. A Sichuan restaurant in a Duluth strip mall that the Michelin Guide gave a Bib Gourmand, which should tell you something about the drive. Inside, red booths and yellow walls set a no-frills scene, and the family-style food is the entire point. The kitchen leans into the numbing heat Sichuan is known for, with big, carefully cooked dishes that take their time. Regulars tend to know exactly what they're ordering before they sit down.

  36. Some rooms look directly into Truist Park, close enough to follow the count without a ticket. This AAA Four Diamond hotel sits inside The Battery Atlanta, the mixed-use development wrapped around the Braves' stadium, so the postgame crowd spills past your front door rather than into a parking lot. Rooms run to 55-inch TVs and refined furnishings, and the upper suites add rooftop patios with soaking tubs above the outfield.

  40. Rank 201. Superica

    Contemporary Tex-Mex

The original location inside Krog Street Market, this Tex-Mex restaurant has since spawned locations across the region, which tells you something about the queso fundido. High ceilings, an open kitchen, and a large bar keep the room loud and sociable. The flour tortillas and margaritas arrive cold and fast, respectively. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the crowd on any given evening looks like it's been coming here for years.

  42. Rank 201. Whoopsie's

    Southern

The Southern snack tray arrives on an actual plastic cafeteria tray, the compartments filled with pimento cheese, pickled veg, chow chow, and pork terrine, which tells you everything about the vibe here. Whoopsie's is a casual Southern restaurant with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a daily-changing protein, a sandwich of the day, and the kind of generous portions that make you want to claim a regular's seat. One dessert is offered, and if it's pecan pie, order it.

  50. The Spanish Colonial bones have been around forever, and Hotel Granada leans into them without apology: wrought ironwork, a leafy open-air courtyard called Pom Court at the center of it all, and a low-lit cocktail bar called May Peel tucked below ground for when the evening calls for something quieter. It's a 120-room Midtown hotel that reads more like a neighborhood institution than a chain, and the Michelin Guide has taken notice.

  88. Rank 257. Ryokou

    Japanese

A hidden door in an industrial Adair Park building opens onto counter seating for fewer than a dozen guests. This is an omakase spot where the chef builds each meal around a different region of Japan, letting the geography do the organizing rather than a fixed greatest-hits menu. The room is spare enough that nothing competes with the food, which is probably the point. A Michelin Selected Restaurant.

  89. Rank 257. Seed Kitchen & Bar

    Contemporary American

The covered patio next to the bar is where Marietta regulars tend to settle in for the long haul. This neighborhood American restaurant runs a seasonal menu built around local and organic sourcing, which in practice means dishes like miso maple-glazed scallops and lavender honey duck breast sharing space with a chicken schnitzel that apparently nobody can leave without ordering. Servers know the menu well enough to actually help. A comfortable, unhurried room without any pretense about it.

  94. On the 71st floor of a round Peachtree tower, this steakhouse rotates slowly enough that you won't notice until Stone Mountain has quietly switched sides. The menu is tight: steaks, chops, braised short ribs, roasted chicken, and a minimum spend per adult that keeps things honest. Business casual, reservations required. The bar two floors up lets you trade a full dinner for a cocktail and a small plate with the same view and fewer expectations.

  95. Rank 257. Trader Vic's

    Hawaiian Cocktail Bar

The elevator opens and wood smoke hits you before the tiki art does, drifting up from the massive open-flame grills below. This Polynesian lounge has been tucked under the Hilton Downtown forever, all bamboo and novelty glassware and rum drinks served in bowls the size of a small birdbath. Staff in Hawaiian shirts keep things unhurried. Order widely and let the table become the buffet it was always meant to be.

  100. Rank 298. Fawn

    Creative Seafood

Fawn builds its identity around amaro, with a selection deep enough to suggest the staff has opinions about bitterness profiles. It's a seafood wine bar in downtown Decatur where you can drop in for crudos and a glass or commit to a tasting menu that leans into dry-aged fish, fermented everything, and combinations that sound strange until they don't. The Michelin Guide has it listed as a Selected Restaurant.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
