The Best Italian Food in Thailand

The best Italian food in Thailand, according to the experts: the Michelin Guide, 50 Top Italy, and 50 Top Pizza have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Cannubi by Umberto Bombana comes out on top, and the good stuff runs deepest in Bangkok.

More Less

CLARA and Five Olives hold the next two places. The Michelin Guide shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with 50 Top Pizza next.

  2. Rank 2. CLARA

    Italian

Set inside a former art gallery a little off Bangkok's main chaos, Clara is a contemporary Italian fine dining restaurant where the garden greets you before the dining room does. Tasting menus of six or eight courses shift with the seasons, the cooking precise and deeply flavored. The wine list leans heavily Italian and stays generous at lower price points. It placed 22nd on 50 Top Italy's global Italian restaurants list for 2026.

  3. Rank 3. Five Olives

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

A Neapolitan pizza spot on Phuket that takes its Italian seriousness perhaps more literally than most: the owners fell hard for Italian food culture and built a colonial-style dining room around that conviction. The dough is contemporary with a proper puffy crust, and the menu stretches into pasta and risotto when pizza feels too casual. The cocktail list is more considered than you'd expect. It ranks on 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific and holds a Michelin Guide selection.

  5. Rank 5. Massilia

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

Neapolitan-style dough with a slight crunch at the bite is the calling card at this Italian pizza restaurant tucked into one of Bangkok's more polished shopping corridors. The menu runs from supplì and meatballs in tomato sauce through to full pizzas, with imported Italian ingredients alongside the best local produce. Ranked in the 50 Top Pizza World list, it draws a crowd that treats the fried starters as non-negotiable, which is pretty good advice.

  7. Tucked down a lane off Sukhumvit Soi 36, L'Oliva splits its identity across restaurant, wine bar, and pizzeria without losing focus on any of them. The dough leans contemporary, with a puffed, assertive crust, and the menu runs from pasta and risotto through classic and gourmet pies. The wine list holds its own at prices that won't cause a scene. It ranked 20th on 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific, if you need a reason to make the detour.

  12. Rank 8. Enoteca

    Italian

An Italian restaurant with nearly 400 bottles on the wine list, including a serious run of Barolo, and the name ("wine library") makes the priorities clear. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto a garden, which cuts the Bangkok business-district noise down considerably. The kitchen pulls from all regions of Italy, ingredients flown in from Europe, with risotto a recurring reason to linger over a second glass.

  20. The awards

  21. Hand-painted murals mimicking Roman architecture cover the walls of this old converted house, which now serves as a cozy Italian trattoria tucked into a Bangkok soi. The kitchen leans into Emilia-Romagna, meaning handmade pasta and slow-cooked ragù rather than anything trying to impress. Italian wines round things out, and the place welcomes dogs, which tells you something about the vibe.

  22. Rank 22. Marni

    Pizzeria

A contemporary-style pizza dough with a pronounced crust is the anchor here, but Marni runs a fuller Italian menu than that suggests, covering fresh pasta, gnocchi, local meats, and seafood alongside the pies. It sits in the middle of tourist-heavy Phuket, which makes its consistency quietly impressive. The wine list is short and sensibly priced, and a small gin and tonic selection handles aperitivo duty. It ranked 39th on 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
