The best pizza in Thailand, according to the experts: 50 Top Pizza and the Michelin Guide have both weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Five Olives comes out on top, and the good stuff runs deepest in Bangkok and Phuket.

More Less

Massilia and L’OLIVA hold the next two places. 50 Top Pizza shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with the Michelin Guide next.

  1. Rank 1. Five Olives

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

A Neapolitan pizza spot on Phuket that takes its Italian seriousness perhaps more literally than most: the owners fell hard for Italian food culture and built a colonial-style dining room around that conviction. The dough is contemporary with a proper puffy crust, and the menu stretches into pasta and risotto when pizza feels too casual. The cocktail list is more considered than you'd expect. It ranks on 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific and holds a Michelin Guide selection.

  2. Rank 2. Massilia

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

Neapolitan-style dough with a slight crunch at the bite is the calling card at this Italian pizza restaurant tucked into one of Bangkok's more polished shopping corridors. The menu runs from supplì and meatballs in tomato sauce through to full pizzas, with imported Italian ingredients alongside the best local produce. Ranked in the 50 Top Pizza World list, it draws a crowd that treats the fried starters as non-negotiable, which is pretty good advice.

  3. Rank 3. L’OLIVA

    Pizzeria

Tucked down a lane off Sukhumvit Soi 36, L'Oliva splits its identity across restaurant, wine bar, and pizzeria without losing focus on any of them. The dough leans contemporary, with a puffed, assertive crust, and the menu runs from pasta and risotto through classic and gourmet pies. The wine list holds its own at prices that won't cause a scene. It ranked 20th on 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific, if you need a reason to make the detour.

  4. The wood-fired oven takes up most of the room, which tells you immediately where your attention should be. This is a compact Bangkok pizza spot tucked into the Park Lane residential complex in Ekkamai, run by an American expat who followed love to Thailand and brought his dough obsession along. Naturally leavened crust with a pronounced char and real crunch, a daily menu built around what's good right now, housemade desserts, and a small single malt selection rounding things out.

  5. The awards

  6. Rank 6. Marni

    Pizzeria

A contemporary-style pizza dough with a pronounced crust is the anchor here, but Marni runs a fuller Italian menu than that suggests, covering fresh pasta, gnocchi, local meats, and seafood alongside the pies. It sits in the middle of tourist-heavy Phuket, which makes its consistency quietly impressive. The wine list is short and sensibly priced, and a small gin and tonic selection handles aperitivo duty. It ranked 39th on 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
