The building was once Hannington's department store; now the flint-stone shell holds a brasserie with a first-floor cocktail bar, a terrace, and a stainless-steel counter wrapping an open kitchen below. The menu roams freely across global influences in small-plate format, colourful and casual enough that grazing feels like the point. Wines come by the glass in decent number. A Michelin Bib Gourmand, and priced like they mean it.

The neon sign pulling you off Stratton Street is the first signal that Langan's takes its own mythology seriously. This Mayfair brasserie has been around forever, and the relaunched version keeps the art-covered walls and the formal-but-warm service that made the original a scene. The menu runs on classics: Caesar salad, fish pie, beef Wellington for two, chocolate mousse. It knows exactly what it is, and it isn't changing.
