Java Blend has been roasting its own beans in Halifax's North End forever, and the cafe wears that history without making a fuss about it. The old Model Milk Dairy building on 17th gives this lively restaurant its name and its bones, with an open, industrial feel softened by a genuinely buzzy room. The menu changes every couple of weeks, pulling from local and regional producers, so there's no such thing as a regular order.
