The best Moroccan food in France, according to the experts: Le Fooding, The Infatuation, and Eater have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Chez Mamane comes out on top, and the good stuff runs deepest in Paris.
More Less
Restaurant le Tagine and Le Sirocco hold the next two places. The Michelin Guide and The Infatuation show up on more of this list than any other guide.

This Moroccan restaurant in the 11th was pouring natural wine back when people still thought it was a fermentation accident. Families fill the room at lunch, and by night the wine-obsessed show up under moucharabieh lanterns to work through the couscous and tagine lists. The servers will tell you where every lamb and spice came from, at length, so budget the time. It's a sit-down meal, not a quick stop.

Fatéma Hal opened the original version of this Moroccan restaurant back in the eighties, and her daughter has since moved it to Rue de Charonne under a new name with a refreshed look, traditional objects alongside contemporary touches. The menu hasn't wandered far: couscous, tajines, Moroccan pastries, and mint tea hold their ground. The kind of place where nothing is trying to impress you, which somehow makes it more impressive.

This Moroccan restaurant in the Marais keeps its lamps lit so dimly that the jewel-toned Berber chairs are mostly rumor, even at lunch. The guembri on the soundtrack makes a drab Tuesday feel like a birthday, and tagines are the house specialty, nine of them, with flatbread baked to order for the broth. Groups can share mezze and couscous bowls, while the three-course lunch is a calmer, cheaper way to sit in the dark.
