  29. Rank 129. Cave

    Wine Bar

Pale wood, shelves of wine, and a counter that keeps things close, this is the casual sibling to CIBO across the street, a wine bar that takes food seriously enough to earn a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Lunch runs as a single seasonal set menu; evenings open up into sharing plates of charcuterie, cheese, and whatever the region is doing well right now. Small, warm, and genuinely buzzing in a way that feels earned rather than engineered.

  35. Rank 130. Maison K

    Wine Bar

Part deli, wine bar, and restaurant, Maison K is the kind of hybrid that sounds confused on paper but makes total sense the moment you sit down. The open kitchen turns out dishes that are precise without being fussy, built for sharing and conversation rather than reverent silence. The wine list leans heavily toward small-producer natural and biodynamic bottles, and the team steers you toward the right one without lecturing you about it.

  36. A wine-cellar-turned-bistro tucked across from the post office in a small village deep in the Terrasses du Larzac vineyards, Souka is the kind of place that takes its name from the Occitan word for root and means it. The kitchen runs a short, nostalgic menu of slow-cooked, carefully made French classics, the wine list runs to several hundred references at sensible prices, and the whole thing stays resolutely relaxed. Tastings and cooking workshops fill out the calendar.

  37. Rank 130. Zoutra

    Levantine Wine Bar

The name means "little one" in Aramaic, and the room delivers on that promise with stone walls, concrete, and hardwood floors gathered around an open kitchen. This Levantine wine bar and small-plates spot in the 18th leans into the Eastern Mediterranean with sharing plates that smell like somewhere warmer than Paris. The mofletta-wrapped lamb arayes alone justify the detour.

  39. Rank 138. Bouche

    Wine Bar

Bouche is a small-plates and natural wine restaurant in the 11th, in a neighborhood where tiled floors and wobbly bistro chairs are practically municipal code. Here the room goes Brutalist instead, all exposed stone, dried flowers, and candlelight, closer to Berlin than Paris. The menu rotates every few weeks and wanders well beyond France, and there's a mezcal and coconut milk slushy for anyone who's tired of orange wine.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
