The 100 Best Places in Poland

Sections

Tap to add or drop a section. At least one stays on.

The best places in Poland, according to the experts: the Michelin Guide, The 50, and the Forbes Travel Guide have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Bottiglieria 1881 comes out on top, and the good stuff runs deepest in Warsaw and Krakow.

More Less

Alon Omakase and Arco by Paco Pérez hold the next two places. The Michelin Guide shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with The 50 next.

  1. Rank 1. Bottiglieria 1881

    Polish Eastern European

The menu descriptions are famously terse, which tells you nothing about what's coming. This is a two Michelin-starred fine dining room in Kraków's old town, where the chef takes traditional Polish cooking and refines it into something quietly startling. Think guinea fowl broth, venison, pierogi reimagined with saffron. The room is smartly turned out, the service attentive without being stiff, and the atmosphere lands closer to relaxed dinner party than hushed temple.

  2. Twelve seats around a counter, eyes forward, no distractions: this is what an omakase is supposed to feel like. Alon Than's Michelin-starred sushi counter on the city's edge runs 20 to 30 pieces in the Edomae style, with fish sourced from Hokkaido, Iceland, and Spain. The knife work alone draws gasps from regulars who've sat here a dozen times.

    The awards

  3. On the 33rd floor of the tallest building in northern Poland, Arco by Paco Pérez holds a Michelin star and a view that stretches across Gdańsk to the Baltic. It's a fine dining room where the kitchen speaks Spanish with a Polish accent, pulling local produce through a Mediterranean sensibility. The pumpkin risotto arrives with a drizzle of liquorice, the chef's nod to childhood. The wine list rewards the patient reader.

    The awards

  4. Rank 2. BABA

    Polish Eastern European

Tightly packed tables and a sommelier who actually knows Polish wine set the mood at this Michelin-starred modern bistro in Wrocław's old town. Chef Beata Śniechowska reworks classic Polish dishes into something sharper and more considered, pierogi included. The room buzzes in the way only small, confident places do, and the service reads more like hospitality than performance.

    The awards

  5. Rank 2. Giewont

    Modern European

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the peak the restaurant is named for, which sits close enough to feel like it's listening in on dinner. This is a Michelin-starred fine dining room in the mountains outside Zakopane, drawing skiers who've traded their boots for something smarter. The kitchen pulls from both Polish and French traditions, and tasting menus are the move here, built around expressive, precisely seasoned cooking that takes the alpine setting seriously.

    The awards

  6. A Michelin-starred tasting menu restaurant in a century-old building on Praga's quieter bank of the Vistula, where the chef has a habit of delivering dishes to the table himself. Two menus to choose from, both built around technique and serious sourcing. The cooking moves from delicate opening snacks through to a surf-and-turf that swaps the clichés for ribeye and crayfish. Intimate enough that the service actually remembers you exist.

    The awards

  7. The menu arrives as single words, which tells you almost nothing and is entirely the point. Most is a small, formal tasting-menu restaurant tucked behind its sibling spot on the Wrocław riverfront, and the kitchen holds a Michelin star. Courses reveal themselves only as they land, built from pairings that take real risks. The wine pairing leans into obscure bottles that the sommelier clearly loses sleep over finding.

    The awards

  8. Rank 2. NUTA

    Creative Pan-Asian

Andrea Camastra has a chemistry degree from Oxford and an on-site lab to prove it, which tells you everything about the kind of tasting menu restaurant NUTA is. His cooking folds together his native Puglia, his adopted Poland, and a deep pull toward Asian flavors, and it holds together in ways that probably shouldn't. A Michelin star. The longer Maestro menu, with wine pairings, is the move.

    The awards

  9. A Michelin-starred neighborhood restaurant that somehow never lost the feel of a neighborhood restaurant, Rozbrat 20 sits in a quiet Warsaw street while the kitchen quietly does something intricate and creative. The front room opens onto the chefs at work, which is fitting, since the food repays attention: a consommé built from leftover bread, langoustine with kohlrabi and kombu, and a Marmite butter the chef brought back from London like a souvenir worth keeping.

  10. The dining room sits on the eighth floor of a converted water tower, which already puts you in an H.G. Wells mood before the food arrives. This is a Michelin-starred modern tasting restaurant where the kitchen leans into the theatrical setting without being upstaged by it, building dishes with real technical depth and layered flavor. Slow-cooked beef rib with a chive coating turns up in the Michelin write-up as a reason to pay attention, and it's the kind of specific that earns its mention.

    The awards

  11. A neoclassical pile on Warsaw's Royal Route, Raffles Europejski has been around forever and carries itself accordingly: hushed corridors, high ceilings, marble bathrooms, and a modern Polish art collection that turns the lobby into a gallery you happen to be checking into. Rooms lean toward calming neutrals and custom furnishings, many with windows onto Piłsudski Square or the historic street below. It holds a Forbes Four Star.

    The awards

  12. Hotel Copernicus is a 29-room boutique hotel on Kanonicza, the street that climbs toward Wawel Castle. The mood is sober Renaissance: heavy beds with footboards, as if the bed has opinions about your posture. Bathrooms are marble and modern, and the cellar vaults hold a small spa. Two Michelin Keys, a rooftop bar, and a price that stays politely below what the setting suggests.

    The awards

  13. A glass of fresh orange juice meets you in the grand lobby, a nod to the Maltese orange trees filling the gardens outside. This Forbes Four Star hotel near Attard began life as a regal villa and still leans into the heritage: columns, classical architecture, formal service, and multiple restaurants including one from Francesco Mazzei. The spa, pools, and general air of unhurried ceremony make it clear this is not a place for people in a hurry.

  15. The doorman here has been greeting guests in white gloves on the Royal Route since before anyone can remember, and the lobby's crystal chandeliers and polished marble make a persuasive case that nothing has changed. This grand luxury hotel sits between the Presidential Palace and Old Town, blending neo-Renaissance and art nouveau in a way that makes the rest of Warsaw feel briefly modern. Café Bristol's pastries alone draw a faithful morning crowd.

    The awards

  16. Stradom House is a hotel in a medieval building, in Krakow's Stradom neighborhood, which is not a typo for "stardom," though your phone will try. The restoration left the old bones in conversation with the churches and squares nearby, and the rooms are bright and modern, a relief after all that stone. Guests can drift from a chapel to an art gallery to a drink at Hedwig's. It holds one Michelin Key.

    The awards

  17. This is a luxury hotel in a neo-baroque palace on Świętego Jana, a few steps from the Old Town and a lot of horse-drawn carriage traffic. The rooms keep their old architecture but swap in saturated colors, marble bathrooms, and working electronics. Downstairs are a spa, a gastronomic restaurant, and a bistro. It holds one Michelin Key, and the clientele dress like they've already read the wine list.

    The awards

  18. Rank 18. Art

    Creative Cocktail Bar

The booths at this gallery-style cocktail bar in Katowice are upholstered in denim collected through a crowdsourced social media campaign, which tells you a lot about the ethos before you've ordered anything. Rotating work by local artists lines the walls, and a back-of-house lab drives menus that lean conceptual. Named a Discovery by Europe's 50 Best Bars, and a Campari One To Watch for 2026.

  19. Rank 19. 2PiEr

    German

A terrace on the fifth floor of Lublin's conference centre, with the city spread out below and a sunset that makes the timing of your reservation feel strategic. This casual restaurant holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and leans on a menu that mixes traditional Polish cooking with familiar European classics. The wiener schnitzel is the crowd favourite for good reason. The wine list is short, but local beers and cocktails pick up the slack.

    The awards

  20. Rank 19. Acanti

    Modern Eastern European

Despite the name, this is a modern Polish restaurant with European influences, not a trattoria, and the misdirection is half the fun. It occupies two rooms in a converted tenement: a bright ground-floor dining room and a darker, more atmospheric basement. The kitchen turns out refined, layered plates with a deft touch, and the young team keeps things warm and relaxed. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

    The awards

  21. Rank 19. AHAAN

    Thai

Rustic wooden furniture, vintage posters, and enough colour to temporarily forget you're on a Warsaw side street, this casual Thai restaurant holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and leans into it without getting precious. The kitchen draws on the chef's training in Thailand and leans heavily on imported ingredients, so the flavours land with some conviction. The khao soi, with its spiced beef brisket, is the dish regulars seem to order without looking up.

    The awards

  22. A restaurant set inside the old library of a gatehouse at Zamek Książ castle, reached by a spiral stone staircase, which already tells you something about the afternoon you're in for. The cooking is modern regional, the kind that uses Kwaśnica soup and polenta cake to prove a point without making a speech about it. A Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the minstrels' gallery handles private parties with a straight face.

    The awards

  23. Rank 19. Blisko Bar

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

Exposed brick, a wall of natural and low-intervention wines, and a menu that keeps the bill surprisingly civilized: Blisko Bar is a neighborhood spot on Stalowa Street that earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand without any of the usual fuss. The team steers you toward the right bottle while the kitchen sends out Neapolitan-style pizzas and seasonal small plates sized for sharing. Bring people you like, order more than you planned.

    The awards

  24. A wood-fired pork chop finished with ponzu and Asian slaw gives you the general idea: Polish instincts, global detours, no fuss. This neighborhood bistro on Toruńska draws a loyal local crowd with generous pricing and a natural-wine list that leans toward small producers. The team behind it came up together at a well-regarded Warsaw restaurant, and it shows in how the cooking and the cellar actually talk to each other. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand.

    The awards

  25. Rank 19. Bufet KRK

    Modern Brasserie

    The awards

  26. Rank 19. Ceviche Bar

    Peruvian

Despite the name, this bright South American restaurant on ul. Twarda goes well beyond ceviche, though the Peruvian classic is there in several forms if you want it. Empanadas, grilled steaks, and tostones fill out the menu, all cooked with a looseness that feels more dinner-party than dining room. By evening the music rises and the pisco sours come faster. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

    The awards

  27. Rank 19. Da Andrea

    Italian

An Italian restaurant inside a brick townhouse in Olsztyn's Old Town, with a veranda that looks out over the river. The team is from Valdobbiadene, prosecco country, so the meal tends to start with a glass before you've even opened the menu. Pasta changes with the season, and the trout comes in very fresh. The tiramisu has its own following. A Michelin Bib Gourmand.

    The awards

  28. Rank 19. Farmer & Sons

    Polish Eastern European

White tiles and Polish comfort food on the suburban fringe of Poznań, where a Bib Gourmand bistro is quietly doing something smart with the classics. The kitchen lightens traditional recipes without draining the flavor from them, so dishes like dumplings topped with braised beef cheek and a bone-marrow demi-glace land with real weight. A handful of steaks sold by weight cover the celebration end of things, and the service is notably warm for a room this casual.

    The awards

  29. Rank 19. Folga

    Brasserie

    The awards

  30. A bistro and cheese bar split down the middle, with one side for sitting down to a proper meal and the other given over to a display of wheels and wedges from around the world. The kitchen folds cheese into most things, parmesan turning up on the beef tartare, and a cheese course is the expected finale. Holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. If you only have twenty minutes, the seasonal cheeseboard with a drink pairing is its own argument.

    The awards

  31. Vaulted brick ceilings and exposed steel columns set the scene in this former brewery turned restaurant and bakery, which holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The menu roams freely across global influences, but the bread baked in-house tends to upstage everything else, which is the kind of problem most places would love. Cocktails are named after planets, a nod to a local astronomer whose name the place also borrowed.

  32. Rank 19. IDA kuchnia i wino

    Polish Eastern European

Exposed brick and concrete floors inside Hotel Jazz, just off the Old Town, give this regional bistro the feel of a place that decided pretension was too much effort. The cooking follows the same logic: good ingredients, precise technique, and no theatrical flourishes. Dumplings and slow-cooked chicken anchor a menu that reads like someone's grandmother got serious. The wine list quietly slips in local Polish riesling. Michelin gives it a Bib Gourmand.

    The awards

  33. A ceiling rack of wine glasses that defies all reasonable engineering hangs over the entrance to this wine bar and bistro on ul. Próżna. A bold black-and-white wildlife mural covers one wall, and the menu runs to hearty, punchy cooking, lamb with mashed potato and roasted shallots being the kind of thing you're here for. Corkage is welcome if you'd rather bring your own bottle. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

    The awards

  34. Rank 19. Koneser Grill

    Steakhouse

A former vodka distillery turned walled mini-village on the Praga side makes an unlikely home for a grill restaurant, but here we are. The team behind Butchery & Wine runs this one, aging their steaks in-house and pairing them with textbook sauces, though the ikejime fish and even the salads hold their own. Sharing is how most people eat here. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand.

  36. Part bottle shop, part bar, part restaurant, and fully a neighborhood find in Katowice, this Bib Gourmand spot runs on regional comfort food and a wine list long enough to need a guide. 37. Branches and wood elements run through the earthy, terracotta-toned dining room of this cosy bistro, a casual nod to the deep forests of Podlaskie just beyond Białystok. The menu leans into that same logic, with flatbreads, foraged mushrooms, and roe deer sitting alongside a price point that won't require a sit-down with your bank. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the room fills with locals who clearly already knew.

  40. Rank 19. Naama

    Moroccan

Clay pots and ornate hanging lamps set the mood at this small Moroccan restaurant on Rzeszów's main square, and the kitchen earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand keeping pace with the decor. The menu runs through tagines and other North African staples handled with care, and the mint tea at the end feels less like an afterthought than a quiet ceremony. Cozy enough that you notice the details, and warm enough that you linger over them.

  41. Rank 19. Nat Bistro

    Wine Bar

A narrow wine bar tucked into the Old Town that you will walk past at least once before finding it, which is apparently part of the experience. Inside, whitewashed brick and a semi-vaulted ceiling set the tone for hearty Polish-leaning cooking that punches well above the price point. The "Nat" comes from the natural and orange wine list, which earns its own attention. The Michelin Guide awards it a Bib Gourmand.

    The awards

  42. Rank 19. NOAH

    Israeli

Marble-topped tables and high stools give this Israeli sharing spot in Kazimierz a wine-bar feel, and the menu leans into that with a list of Israeli and Polish bottles alongside fresh pitta and lamb kebabs cooked on the fire. The room moves fast and the team keeps up with it. Portions are made for the table, the prices are easy, and it holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

  43. Rank 19. Piernicova

    Polish Eastern European

Żurek soup that regulars apparently plan their afternoons around sits at the heart of a Polish regional restaurant tucked into Toruń's old town, where the medieval ramparts are close enough to admire from the terrace. Inside, charcoal furniture and bare brick give it a contemporary edge, though upstairs, with tables facing the open kitchen, things get properly cozy. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the team steers you through the menu like they mean it.

    The awards

  44. Rank 19. Pijalni

    Wine Bar

Exposed brick, mismatched furniture, and a list of wines you've never heard of: Pijalni is a neighborhood wine bar and bistro sitting just far enough from the Wrocław center to feel like a local secret. The cooking keeps things unfussy and satisfying, leaning into Polish flavors with a contemporary edge. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which tracks, because the room is always full of people who clearly come back on purpose.

    The awards

  45. Rank 19. Posto

    French

A converted barn in Jeżyce done up in a style that splits the difference between rustic and chic, Posto is a French-leaning bistro that earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand without making you feel it. The cooking runs to classic Gallic territory, and the kitchen's generosity shows up in the details: a welcome drink, madeleines with coffee, prices that won't require a rethink. Warm service rounds out what is, by any measure, a very easy evening.

  48. Rank 19. Sztuka Chleba i Wina

    Modern Portuguese Wine Bar

By day it's a bakery, café, and wine shop; by night the candles come out and it turns into a proper bistro and bar. The menu changes often and stays affordable, with the kitchen leaning hard on quality ingredients and sauces that tend to steal the show. The wine list runs natural. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which tracks for a place that manages to be two or three things at once without fumbling any of them.

    The awards

  49. Rank 19. Tarasowa

    Modern Brasserie

A smart brasserie tucked inside the domed Centennial Hall, with a terrace that looks out over the Multimedia Fountain's summer light shows. The menu leans into Silesian tradition, and the kitchen handles the balance of flavors and textures with quiet confidence. The Michelin Guide awards it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks with the pricing. The Japanese gardens next door give you a solid excuse to arrive hungry.

  51. Perched on the 33rd floor of the Olivia Centre tower, this Spanish restaurant earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand with tapas, big sharing rice dishes, and views that make Gdańsk look suspiciously glamorous. Spanish guitar plays, Ibérico ham croquetas make the rounds, and the largely Spanish wine list is long enough to be taken seriously. The service team brings a warmth that keeps the whole thing from feeling like a tourist trap with altitude.

  52. Rank 19. TU.REStAURANT

    Modern European

A converted military building on Grunwaldzka, now all mezzanine levels, a wine wall, and a cocktail bar with a communal table, which is a glow-up few old barracks manage. The modern European menu runs from small plates to shared larger dishes, with a pasta section that keeps the table from fighting. The kitchen has a way with sauces that the Michelin Bib Gourmand noticed, and the pricing won't require a debrief afterward.

  54. Rank 19. WANDAL

    Polish Eastern European

Offal-stuffed doughnuts with grated horseradish might sound like a dare, but that's the concept at this Warsaw restaurant: traditional Polish cooking, deliberately disrupted. The name means "vandal," and the kitchen leans into it, reworking familiar recipes with enough restraint to stay delicious and enough nerve to stay interesting. The team knows its wine list well, and the prices are the kind that make you order one more round. A Michelin Bib Gourmand.

  55. Rank 19. WIN wine bar & shop

    Modern Wine Bar

A wine importer opened this place, which explains why the shelves run to over 300 bottles with a serious lean into Central and Eastern European producers. Browse and buy on the ground floor, then head upstairs to a spare, minimalist bistro where the cooking is precise and the menu is priced like they actually want you to order another glass. A Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the staff know the list well enough to steer you without making it a lecture.

  56. Rank 19. WYRAJ

    Polish Eastern European

Named for the Slavic afterlife, a paradise where souls rest, this snug little restaurant on Krochmalna takes the mythology seriously enough to make everything in-house and change the menu with the seasons. It's a casual, cozy spot for old Polish cooking, the kind that feels genuinely rooted rather than performed. The Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks: the food is careful and the prices are kind.

  57. Balthazar is a boutique hotel on Grodzka Street, the old Royal Route, tucked into a townhouse with a deliberately quiet facade. Inside, it goes the other way: velvet sofas, saturated colors, and enough art to make the lobby feel like a friend's very expensive apartment. Check-in comes with amaretto and biscotti, which is a decent way to ease into the rest of the decor. It's in the Michelin Guide's selected hotels.

  59. The Warszauer is a ten-room boutique hotel in Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter, with a modern exterior that nods politely to its centuries-old neighbors. Inside, the walls belong to a Polish painter and a roster of name-brand designers, so the furniture comes with a pedigree. The Small Deluxe rooms are small, as promised, but the bathrooms are good. There's a terrace over the Kazimierz rooftops, and it's Michelin Guide Selected.

  60. Pod Różą is a small luxury hotel a few steps from Kraków's main square, in a building old enough that no two of its 57 rooms agree on a floor plan. The decor leans ornate and antique, with the modern comforts tucked in where you'd least suspect them. Downstairs you get a Tuscan restaurant, a fine-dining Polish one, and a wine cellar under an arched vault, so you can eat well without ever checking the weather.

  61. Hotel Teatr is a small boutique hotel with just 15 rooms and a three-room suite, tucked into a former church and boys' school that kept exposing older stonework every time someone renovated. It sits beside the Słowacki Theatre, so private boxes come with the booking, and visiting actors tend to be the ones in the next room.

  63. PURO Kraków Kazimierz is a design-forward boutique hotel in the old Jewish quarter, with interiors by Conran and Partners and local street art hung where other hotels put a framed print of a lighthouse. It's on the Michelin Guide's Selected Hotels list.

  64. This is a grand hotel in a 19th-century building just outside Krakow's Old Town, where Baroque flourishes and Art Deco polish share the same lobby without arguing. Rooms run from tidy singles to suites with views of the Vistula. The spa's mosaic pool is tiled so ornately it seems to be showing off. It's been around forever, back when it counted as the cutting edge of Kraków hospitality, and it still sits across from the Czartoryski Museum, a short walk from the Barbican. Expect a mid-to-upper price and a lobby where jeans feel slightly underdressed. The Michelin Guide lists it among its Selected Hotels.

The rooms lean mid-century modern, with herringbone floors and Bauhaus-ish furniture, which is a sensible choice in a city that has already cornered the market on medieval splendor. Neapolitan Pizzeria

Neapolitan pizza in Warsaw, done with enough conviction that the dough gets the long fermentation and the crust comes out properly charred and chewy. The menu runs wide, from classic Margherita and Marinara to panuozzi sandwiches, fried calzone, fresh pasta, and Neapolitan desserts, backed by an almost exclusively Italian wine list. The room is relaxed and the service reliably warm, the kind of pizzeria you return to on a Tuesday with no particular occasion required.

  75. Zinar Castle is a five-star hotel in a limestone villa tucked into Wolski Forest above Kraków, with 34 rooms and art by well-known Polish names on the walls. It started life as a wartime commandant's residence, which is a heavy thing to sleep on top of, so the new owners have gone with arched arcades and terraces. The Old Town is a short ride down, and the forest trails start at the door.

  76. A pizzeria in a quiet residential pocket outside Łódź, the kind of place where the parking lot fills with cars that drove an hour to get here. The team has thought hard about every ingredient, from the flour through to the fior di latte, and the dough gets a long, careful fermentation before it sees fire. A custom IPA from a local brewery sits alongside Italian wines and interesting cocktails. It holds a spot on the 50 Top Pizza Europe list.

  92. Rank 77. Café Xander

    Mediterranean Eastern European

Polish cooking with a Mediterranean lean, so expect risotto or pasta to turn up alongside more familiar local flavors. Café Xander sits inside Hotel Haffner but has its own entrance and its own unhurried register, somewhere between a neighborhood restaurant and a formal dining room without committing to either. The kitchen clearly spends money on ingredients, and the plating makes sure you notice. Service tilts toward the formal end. The Michelin Guide has it listed as a selected restaurant.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
