  1. Rank 739. Mansou'

    Moroccan

Fatéma Hal opened the original version of this Moroccan restaurant back in the eighties, and her daughter has since moved it to Rue de Charonne under a new name with a refreshed look, traditional objects alongside contemporary touches. The menu hasn't wandered far: couscous, tajines, Moroccan pastries, and mint tea hold their ground. The kind of place where nothing is trying to impress you, which somehow makes it more impressive.

  3. Rank 739. Marie Akaneya

    Charcoal Barbecue Japanese

Every table has its own binchotan grill, and the wagyu crossing it comes from Ito Ranch in Matsusaka, which the Japanese consider the definitive source of Kobe beef. Marie Akaneya brought sumibiyaki, a style of charcoal barbecue popular in Kyoto, to Paris for the first time, and the room leans into the theatre of it. Crown Melon from Fukuroi occasionally shows up, at prices that make the wagyu look modest.

  6. Rank 739. Marso & Co

    Mediterranean

Octopus murals from street artist Kraken cover the walls, which sets the tone for a restaurant that doesn't sit still geographically. The chef behind Tomy & Co near Les Invalides runs this casual Mediterranean spot in the 13th, cooking a loose arc from Greece to Lebanon to Portugal with a Latin American detour. The menu moves the way someone with a good passport eats, and the ingredients taste like they arrived this morning.

  7. Rank 739. Matka

    Polish Eastern European

The earthenware stove in the corner sets the tone: this is a Polish restaurant tucked into a narrow medieval street in the Marais, and it feels like someone's grandmother's dining room if grandmother had very good taste in stonework and red leather banquettes. The menu is a tribute to the chef's mother, and it reads like it, with pierogi, sourdough soup, and a szarlotka that follows a family recipe. Cozy, unhurried, and genuinely unlike anything else nearby.

  10. Rank 739. Milagro

    Bistro

White marble counter, parquet floors, and green velvet armchairs set the register at this compact neo-vintage bistro in the 7th. The American chef trained with Alain Passard and David Toutain, and the cooking lands somewhere between New Mexico instinct and Parisian bistronomic tradition, which is a stranger combination than it sounds and a more interesting one. Regulars fill the room early, so book ahead.

  11. Rank 739. Mojju

    Modern Korean

The charcoal grill is the centerpiece at this modern Korean restaurant in the 7th, where matured meats and marinated fish arrive tableside with banchan and leaves so you can wrap your own ssam. The room nods to traditional hanok architecture, and the kitchen team runs a tight, considered menu built around fermented flavors and clean technique. A short wine list sits alongside a few Korean rice spirits, which is a better pairing than it sounds.

  14. Philippe Starck did the Venetian-inspired interior, and the former Bourse sits right outside the window, so the setting does a lot of work before the food arrives. This is a sit-down Italian restaurant pulling from Venice and the northeast, with vegetables from what the kitchen calls a respectful cottage garden and fish from sustainable sources. The ice creams finished with Piedmontese hazelnuts or Bronte pistachios are the kind of detail regulars mention unprompted.

  15. The chef trained at Lucas Carton and La Grande Cascade before opening this modern bistro near Saint-Lazare, and the cooking carries that pedigree into something looser and more personal. The menu moves between French technique and Mexican sensibility without announcing either, which is the kind of restraint that takes skill. The room is friendly and unfussy, which suits the food's confidence perfectly.

  16. Rank 739. Nodaïwa

    Japanese

Grilled eel is the whole point here, served in the traditional Japanese style by the only outpost of the Tokyo institution to exist outside Japan. Rue Saint-Honoré is a strange street for it, but the dining room fills with Japanese expats who know exactly what they're ordering before they sit down. The eel comes glazed, in soup, in a savory flan, and the kitchen makes its own miso and chawanmushi from scratch.

  21. A seabass baked in pastry crust has been the Rostang family's calling card here for years, and the kitchen at this hotel dining room near Les Halles builds confidently around it. The menu leans into sharing plates, moving between classic French cuts and quietly playful pairings like veal belly with Gala apple. The room reads like a proper sit-down dinner, unhurried and polished without being stiff.

  24. Rank 739. Panurge

    French

Old engravings of Rabelaisian characters line the walls, which tells you exactly why this cozy bistro in the 2nd arrondissement is called Panurge. The chef trained under serious French kitchens before landing here, and the cooking lands somewhere between classical and quietly personal, with well-balanced plates that trust the tradition without being buried by it. The wine list, apparently, is no afterthought either.

  26. Rank 739. Passionné

    Modern French

Midnight blue mosaics at the bar and dark walls throughout give this modern French restaurant near Grands Boulevards the quiet composure of a Tokyo side-street spot, which makes sense given the chef's roots in Hokkaido. The cooking follows the same logic: quality ingredients sourced with care, handled without fuss. It's the kind of place where the restraint on the plate matches the restraint on the walls.

  28. A wood-panelled dining room in the 20th, named for a tree that used to grow across the street. The chef and sommelier met in Alain Passard's kitchen and brought his reverence for vegetables with them to this neighborhood bistro, where the cooking is seasonal, rooted, and prepared to order. Whole cuts come out of the oven; tortellini turns up alongside celery consommé. The service is warm without being performative, which in Paris counts for something.

  29. Bay windows frame the garden of Les Invalides, which is the kind of view Paris keeps for its most self-satisfied addresses. This is a chic Italian bistro run by a Milanese chef who has no interest in trends, just the canon, executed with care. The pasta is made in-house, the wine list is all Italian and leans hard into Barolo and Barbaresco, and the room feels like someone actually thought about the wood panelling.

  30. Rank 739. Perception

    Modern Korean

Mandu arrive alongside a gochujang-laced fried chicken sauce, and the whole menu keeps moving like that, trading between France and Korea without quite settling in either country. Perception is a tasting-menu restaurant on rue Blanche where polished concrete and low light set a quietly serious tone. The Korean chef brings enough heat and precision to make the back-and-forth feel earned rather than gimmicky.

  35. Guests at this creative tasting-menu spot on rue Gambey don't get a menu, before or after the meal. The chef, a familiar name in the 11th, sends out inventive, cosmopolitan plates with occasional detours through Korea, then asks the table to guess what they just ate. It's a good game when the cooking gives you something to think about. The room is relaxed enough that the whole thing feels like a dinner party rather than a performance.

  36. Midnight-blue velvet banquettes and pale wood panelling give this hotel restaurant in the Latin Quarter the feel of a very grown-up library, one where the menu wanders from sea bass sashimi to pad thai without apology. The young chef has a cosmopolitan instinct that keeps things light and precise, and the desserts follow suit. The lunch menu draws a crowd that knows a quiet room and a fair price when it finds one.

  38. Rue Saint-Blaise is one of those cobbled, almost-village streets that makes you forget you're in Paris, and Ploc leans into that fully. It's a neighbourhood bistro, warm and unhurried, with a short menu built around carefully sourced small-producer ingredients. The cooking is quietly confident, natural wines pour freely, and the room fills with the kind of regulars who seem entirely unbothered by anywhere else in the city.

    The awards

  39. Rank 739. Pouliche

    Contemporary Bistro

A neo-bistro in the 10th where chef Amandine Chaignot runs one of Paris's more quietly confident formats: a single set menu where you pick your main (meat, fish, or vegetarian) and trust her with everything else. Sundays swing toward roast chicken territory; Wednesdays go fully vegetarian. The cooking follows the market rather than a script, which makes the room feel a little different every visit and gives regulars a reason to keep showing up.

  40. Rank 739. Qasti Green

    Vegetarian Lebanese

A vegetarian Lebanese restaurant in the 2nd where the chef's niece, trained by her grandmother in Beirut-style home cooking, runs the kitchen. The menu reads like a greatest-hits of what Lebanon does with vegetables: shawarma built around celery and mushrooms, lentil balls simmered in tomato sauce, a cauliflower take on baba ganoush they've named mama ganoush. Prices are gentle, the room is spare and calm, and booking ahead saves the trip.

  43. A glazed courtyard roof keeps things feeling like a secret even when the room is packed, and at this Italian restaurant on the Grands Boulevards, the menu is short enough that ordering takes minutes. Giovanni Passerini keeps the cooking simple and smart, the kind of place where ravioli with sage butter feels like the right call every time. Wines and cocktails share equal billing on a list that clearly has opinions.

  44. Rank 739. Roco

    Pizzeria

A rotating oven at the center of the room handles the cooking with quiet precision, turning out pizzas in a neighborhood that considers itself well above tourist Paris. Roco is a sit-down pizza restaurant in the 17th, polished enough that the lighting is soft and the wine list is curated by the glass. The kind of place where the appetizers and desserts earn their place rather than just filling out the menu. It ranked 24th on 50 Top Pizza Europe.

The kitchen runs on French comfort food in the old sense: pâtés, offal, stuffed cabbage. Southern French Mediterranean Bistro

The blackboard menu changes, but the mood at this 13th-arrondissement bistro stays fixed somewhere between Paris and the South of France. 50. Rank 739. Shang Palace

    Cantonese

Cantonese fine dining inside the Shangri-La, where the room goes full imperial: lacquered panels, low lighting, and the hush of somewhere that takes its tablecloths seriously. The kitchen leans traditional, with Sichuan detours when the mood strikes, and a dim sum menu at lunch that draws the locals who know how to spend a Thursday afternoon. Peking duck arrives in two services, because of course it does.

  51. Rank 739. Sharma Ji

    Indian

Masala fried chicken with coconut and curry leaves is your first clue that this isn't the usual Paris Indian restaurant. The chef behind Sharma Ji has quietly set out to pry Indian cooking loose from its greatest hits, serving a rotating, spice-forward menu in a bright, modern little bistro in the 15th. The lunch menu is a bargain, and the room draws locals who come back often enough to ignore the chalkboard.

  52. A tiny Franco-Asian bistro tucked into the tourist-thick streets of Montmartre, with a minimalist room that fits maybe a dozen people before it starts feeling like a dinner party nobody planned. The team is a Franco-Korean couple: one works the floor with wine suggestions that actually land, the other runs a kitchen where pastry instincts quietly shape the savory cooking. Book ahead, or the decision gets made for you.

  53. A bistro-style neighborhood spot in the 13th where tables are packed close enough that you'll know your neighbor's order before the night is out. The menu leans seasonal and locally sourced, with a wine cellar devoted to biodynamic bottles a short walk away acting as a natural extension of the whole operation. The lunch set menu draws the kind of crowd that comes back every week without needing to consult the chalkboard.

  54. Rank 739. Soé

    Pan-Asian

A narrow former bistro on rue Beautreillis where the set menu reads as a love letter to Asia written entirely in French ingredients. The chef spent serious time on the continent and brings that back through condiments, sauces, and spices that fold quietly into fish-market catches and free-range poultry. Korean ssamjang turns up on Basque pork and somehow feels inevitable. The room is charming in the way that matches the cooking: considered, warm, and not trying too hard.

  63. Rank 739. Tosca

    Italian

Tucked into a hotel near the Élysée Palace, Tosca is a trim, detail-minded Italian restaurant where the team takes hospitality as seriously as the cooking. Fresh and dried pasta anchor the menu, kept honest without unnecessary flourish. Lunch runs lighter; evenings offer tasting menus, one of them vegetarian, or à la carte. It landed on the 50 Top Italy list of the best Italian restaurants in the world in 2026, which is a long way to travel for a plate of pasta, but apparently Paris manages it.

  65. Rank 739. Vendémiaire

    Modern French

A marble bar and blue-and-orange banquettes set the tone at this chic neighborhood bistro a short walk from Napoleon's tomb. The name nods to the Revolutionary calendar's grape-harvest month, and the menu has a similar push-pull energy, taking French classics like egg mayo, beef bourguignon, and crème brûlée and nudging them just far enough to feel new. Lunch is particularly easy on the wallet, which the locals have clearly noticed.

  66. Rank 739. Vertueux

    French

Near Canal St-Martin, this chic little restaurant is the project of a young chef with Ecuadorian roots and a French fine-dining education, and the menu is exactly what that combination sounds like. Beef bourguignon arrives inside a crispy taco with guacamole; cod comes in a coconut-coriander emulsion with fried plantain. The room is contemporary and relaxed, the cooking is focused, and the two continents mostly agree.

  67. A contemporary trattoria in the 7th where the menu changes daily based on what the market and the chef's mood deliver. The cooking travels across Italy but leans toward Sardinia, the chef's home region, so expect something more personal than a standard Italian tour. A terrace opens up in good weather, and the front of house runs on quiet competence, including sharp wine recommendations from an all-Italian list. Regulars never bother asking for the fixed menu because there isn't one.

  68. Rank 739. Vinello

    Modern Italian

Exposed stone, smoked-glass mirrors, and an open kitchen give this Batignolles Italian bistro a slightly rough-around-the-edges feel that suits it well. The Sicilian chef trained abroad, and the cooking shows it: contemporary technique applied to Italian ideas, nothing fussy. Lunch brings a set menu that won't hurt, evenings go à la carte, and the wine list leans Italian throughout. A neighborhood room that actually feels like one.

  69. A seafood restaurant with its own fish-maturing cellar and a bar big enough to make a statement, VIVE has been a Paris institution since forever. David and Stéphanie Le Quellec now run the kitchen, bringing a very Breton sensibility to dishes built for sharing: fish and shellfish sourced from Atlantic and Mediterranean markets, served in a room of long banquettes and genuine old-school grandeur. Dress accordingly.

  70. Rank 739. Zeffirino

    Italian

The Genoese chef Zeffirino Belloni was famous for his pesto, and this Italian restaurant in the 8th keeps that spirit alive with house-made pasta and a menu built around big, shared-table eating. The dining room leans into a Roaring Twenties Italy aesthetic, which sounds like a lot but lands somewhere rather comfortable. The crowd tends toward the 8th arrondissement's natural habitat: well-dressed, unhurried, and very unlikely to split the bill.

  72. Rank 739. Zoutra

    Levantine Wine Bar

The name means "little one" in Aramaic, and the room delivers on that promise with stone walls, concrete, and hardwood floors gathered around an open kitchen. This Levantine wine bar and small-plates spot in the 18th leans into the Eastern Mediterranean with sharing plates that smell like somewhere warmer than Paris. The mofletta-wrapped lamb arayes alone justify the detour.

  73. Rank 973. Mamiche

    Boulangerie

Mamiche is a boulangerie where the line out the door is part of the architecture, so bring patience and a napkin budget. The croissants run so buttery they turn the paper bag translucent before you reach the sidewalk. Babka and a cinnamon bun that perfumes half the block share the case with brioche buns and sandwiches like mackerel rillettes on grain bread. It's women-run, and cash-light cheap.

  74. Brigat' is a bakery just off Place des Vosges, run by two Italian brothers who apparently looked at the French and decided to do the bread, the viennoiserie, and the pastry all at once. Bakeries here usually pick a lane. There are a few seats at the back, a tiramisu-flavored tart as a nod to home, and a crumble that tastes like it was caramelized by someone with a grudge. It has made The Infatuation's lists of the best bakeries and pâtisseries in Paris.

  75. This is a bakery on the Canal Saint-Martin with a 19th-century façade that you'll have plenty of time to study from the line. The croissant dough gets rolled into pinwheel "escargots," filled with pistachio and chocolate chips or berries and cream cheese, and the croissants cost more than the neighbors' do. The Infatuation put it on its lists of the best bakeries and croissants in Paris. It's closed on weekends, so a Saturday queue is a rumor.

  76. Rank 974. Fimmina

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

The pizzas here are all named after famous women, which tells you something about the room's general energy. Fimmina is a Neapolitan-style pizza spot in the 9th with one of the more serious wine lists you'll find in a pizzeria, with a wide selection available by the glass. The pairings are actively recommended rather than just listed. Italian appetizers and a limoncello baba round things out.

  77. La Grille Montorgueil is a bistro on the cobbled market street of rue Montorgueil, with a zinc bar, red leather banquettes, and a steak au poivre that comes with enough peppery jus to require bread as a utensil. It lands on The Infatuation's lists of top Paris bistros and steak-frites. Peak hours are packed, so reserve, or show up mid-afternoon and take a terrace seat for the people-watching.

  78. Rank 974. La Manifattura

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

Large windows onto the boulevard give La Manifattura a bright, airy feel that its rock-leaning decor quietly contradicts. It's a casual pizza spot on the Montparnasse strip where the real decision is dough: Neapolitan or thin Roman. The Italian wine list travels further than you'd expect for the price point, and service moves fast enough that nobody's waiting around. A straightforward room that doesn't overthink itself.

  79. Le Bon Georges is a Pigalle bistro with three dining rooms so crowded with chalkboard menus and vintage Pernod signs that it feels like a bistro as imagined by someone who only had a bistro described to them. It's best with a group and a generous friend, since the dry-aged beef is priced by the slab and the wine list could pin down a small child. Tourists fill the tables nightly, and The Infatuation counts the fries among the city's finest.

  80. This is a Paris bakery with a café attached, best known as the birthplace of the crookie, the croissant stuffed with cookie dough and rebaked that has since colonized bakery windows from Paris to Phoenix. The croissants run skinnier than most, so you get crunch from the first bite to the last. The tables next door charge a premium for the café atmosphere, so take your pastry to go and find a sofa. The Infatuation has named it to its lists of Paris's top croissants and top bakeries.

  81. Rank 974. Tapisserie

    Patisserie

Tapisserie is a small bakery in the 11th from the Septime crowd, where the stubby croissants vanish early and the bar for oversleeping is low. If you get one, there's a ledge out front to eat it on, and the maple syrup tart is on offer for consolation. The palmiers wear a crisp caramel coat, and the pastry case turns over with the seasons. Come early or come to terms with it.

  82. Rank 983. Breizh Café

    Breton Café

This is a casual crêperie in Saint-Germain built around buckwheat galettes from Brittany, which means you can eat lunch or dinner here without dressing for it or booking ahead. The Odéon branch has more room than the tiny Marais original, plus a terrace for people-watching with a ham-and-comté galette. Some of the savory crêpes arrive rolled up and sliced like sushi, because Paris cannot leave a pancake alone.

  83. Rank 983. Civetta

    Pizzeria

A pizza spot on the 7th arrondissement's main drag that manages to feel genuinely versatile without losing the thread. The pizza holds up even when the room is packed, which it usually is, so booking ahead saves you the sidewalk shuffle. Wine by the glass and a good beer list round things out. It appears on the 50 Top Pizza Europe list, which should tell you the kitchen is taking the dough seriously.

  84. Rank 983. Da Valentina

    Pizzeria

Italian music drifting from the speakers sets the tone before the pizza arrives, and the pizza tends to keep the promise. Da Valentina is a neighborhood pizzeria in the 15th that leans into the unflashy side of the form: a relaxed room, a short list of wines and beers, and a kitchen that rounds out the menu with a few other Italian dishes. The crowd comes for a straightforward meal and leaves without having made a production of it.

  85. Rank 983. Dalmata

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

Neon lights, pink walls, and mirrored surfaces give this Neapolitan pizza spot in the 2nd arrondissement the energy of a disco that never quite ended. The pies are well leavened with a slightly small, soft cornicione, and the appetizers pull their weight, especially the cacio e pepe pasta meatballs. A young crowd fills it on the affordable end of the Paris pizza spectrum, and service keeps things moving.

  86. Rank 983. Daroco

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

The space was once Jean-Paul Gaultier's haute couture workshop, and the bones of that past still show across two floors overlooking the Galerie Vivienne. It's an Italian restaurant and pizzeria, with a short Neapolitan-style pizza menu that leans gourmet rather than classic, plus solid pasta and appetizers. The connected cocktail bar, Danico, draws its own crowd. Dress like you know the neighborhood exists.

  87. Rank 983. Faggio

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

The name is a nod to the beech wood that fires the oven, which about sums up the philosophy at this Neapolitan-style pizzeria near the foot of Montmartre. The dough is soft and pillowy, the toppings lean organic and seasonal, and the wine list runs to natural Italian and French bottles. A shared kitchen with the neighboring restaurant next door means the appetizer spread runs longer than most. The crowd tends to know what they're ordering before they sit down.

  88. A Neapolitan-style pizza shop tucked into a side street a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, Fratelli Castellano runs on a dough that regulars treat as non-negotiable. The room is small, the tables are communal, and no one is pretending otherwise. Classics are the point here, not riffs on them. Dine in or take away, 50 Top Pizza Europe has noted it among its excellent pizzerias on the continent.

  89. Rank 983. Fratelli Pastore

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

A wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzeria in Boulogne-Billancourt that doubles as a full Italian restaurant, so you can bookend your pizza with antipasti and gelato if the mood strikes. The dough is soft and properly leavened, the toppings generous, and the menu moves between classic red and white pies and richer options. Regulars have clearly staked their corners. Named among the 50 Top Pizza Europe Excellent Pizzerias.

  90. Rank 983. Guillaume Grasso

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

A small Neapolitan pizza spot tucked into a quieter corner of the 15th, where the buffalo mozzarella goes on after the bake to keep it cold and fresh, which tells you everything about how seriously they take this. The menu runs from straightforward classics to more composed pies, and the staff will walk you through the options if you ask. Book ahead; the room fills up fast and there isn't much of it.

  91. Rank 983. Iovine’s

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

Neapolitan pizza near the Louvre, with a second, quieter room near the Opéra Garnier that leans polished enough for a business lunch. The dough is soft and light, the toppings careful, and the menu runs from faithful classics to a few personal riffs. Pedone gelato closes things out, a French institution with Italian roots. The service moves at your pace without nudging you toward the door.

  92. Rank 983. La Vittoria

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

A Neapolitan pizzeria in the Marais run by a mother and her two sons, which means the kitchen has a domestic authority that most pizza spots in Paris are simply pretending to have. Mamma Vittoria's ragù and meatballs end up on the pizza as often as on a plate, the fried starters come out fast, and the babà is not an afterthought. It's the kind of family operation where the family is the point.

  93. Mischief is a Marais restaurant where comfort food from the chef's childhood and travels gets shuffled together, in a concrete-and-steel room that could double as a Rick Owens runway. The open kitchen is the seat to request, mostly to watch French onion soup get rolled into a spring roll. It's shareable and playful, and the pasta riff on a canned childhood staple comes in limited quantities, so order it early.

  94. Rank 983. Pizza Viva

    Pizzeria

A wood-fired slice shop in the 5th where the dough leans closer to bread than to cracker, well leavened and cooked with the kind of attention usually reserved for a proper boulangerie. Pizza Viva has spread to three Paris locations on the strength of that base and careful sourcing for the toppings. Slices come pre-cut and served on paper, which is the correct answer to the question of how hungry people should eat pizza.

  95. Rank 983. Prima

    Neapolitan Pizzeria

A Neapolitan pizza spot on a lively stretch of the 17th, where the rooster-shaped water jugs set the tone before the food arrives. The dough follows classic rules, but the toppings go their own way, and a calzone stuffed boldly enough to earn a proper nickname sits alongside a Margherita that still gets a personal touch. The ceramic dishes are colorful, the staff are warm, and the lunch prix-fixe comes in under twenty euros.

  96. Astier is a proper French bistro on a street of small plates and Scandi minimalism, so the gingham napkins and banquettes feel almost like a dare. The waiters carry food in copper pots and finish it at the table, a bit of theater you'd normally pay twice as much to watch. The kitchen likes a twist, like lamb shoulder stewed with tagine spices, and the cheese basket has shrunk to a plate of five.

  97. This Latin Quarter bistro treats a weekday lunch as a three-hour, three-bottle affair, and nobody shows up with a table-turning stopwatch to stop you. The servers will happily discuss the weather that made your Beaujolais so good, then leave you alone. Tables are small enough that neighbors become co-managers of the chalkboard menu, and the three-course lunch runs €27. Bring friends who enjoy arguing about lentils.

  98. A small Jewish bakery in the 9th that does babka as individual rolls, which is a rare thing to find in a city that otherwise considers the baguette a complete personality. Flavors run past chocolate into halvah, cinnamon, and pistachio, and the rugelach comes in chocolate-cinnamon or maple-pecan. At lunch there are challah sandwiches with pastrami, tuna, or sabich. Bring a few euros and an appetite you're willing to defend.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
